I finally got mine to come back to life after I did the battery storage thing. It comes on and off again. Should I be worried though about this happening again and there being something wrong with my deck?
So now I am trying to find a video that can solve my problem but none of the videos have a solution to my problem can someone please make a video that can help me solve this problem 😢
My Steam deck screen is blinking on and off when it boots up and now on top of that my controls are now unresponsive what do I do I spent a lot of money on getting this Steam deck is there anyway I could factory reset it or just completely wipe its drive.
Just fixed mine! What a faff that was. So it was a black screen fan going nothing with the power button worked. So I did what others have done. Left it on the battery ALL night. Drained it completely. Plugged power in just now powered up, updated games as it does. Will try playing later this evening. I was for weeks prior to this getting battery low warnings when it had plenty of battery charge. Which was odd….
I just had this happen to mine for the first time and I finally got it back on doing the battery storage method the video suggested. Let me ask have you had this problem again since this comment?
Not since. But I am getting the battery low messages when it’s not. But can hear the fans kicking in higher. I just plug in and play. So far it’s ok after that
So I just fixed mine, had tried shut off restart etc etc, nothing working, just coming on and the screen staying black- this was after having had it in sleep mode and then not using it for a couple weeks. Saw someone else suggesting to let it run flat again, then plugging in and putting it on- so I turned it on and left it unplugged and have just come back a few hours later where its run out of battery, plugged it in, turned it on and it worked straight away, no more black screen and is working like normal!
Hey, I tried everything in this video and nothing works. I gonna try let the battery run out method. How do you make sure the Steam Deck won’t sleep while waiting for it to run out the battery? Edit: Also, what is run flat means? Thanks.
@@i6100i Just turn it on, it shouldn't have been set to go to sleep on its own. When it goes off, you'll know the battery has run out. Plug back in and restart- thats when mine was then fixed.
I was wondering where I was going to get my clickbait from today. I thought that this was going to be an actual step-by-step guide as the title says on fixing the issue instead it's a read through messages.

I purchased an 512gb from someone's steam deck when they upgraded to a 2T ssd. Will I need to boot up with bios externally as suggested by a lot of youtubers or can this be avoided because it comes from another steam deck? Thanks for your help
@@proaqua Yeah you gotta go to your properties in your game on the right side of your steamdeck before you load your game in and just change it around yo any property that works Some steamdeck games even recommend another property for you if you read carefully
I got a all black screen after replacing the shell. The right side gets super hot when its on. It still functions because i can hear the menu sounds.. but im afraid the cable mightve been punctured?? Any advice?
Try this it worked for me: 1. Power on steam deck even though it’s not booting. Then, hold the power off button for 30 seconds. 2. Connect steam deck to charger. 3. Press and hold the volume up button and then the power button, until you hear a chime, let go of the power button and hold the volume up button until you enter bios mode. Then, select continue in bios mode. 3. Let it sit, and wait for it to run. Let me know if it works for you too.

I was getting excited when you said the deck you had wasn't responding and stuff because I thought you had an answer to fix it 😢 mine randomly turns on, light shows, fans go, it does the Lil beep and the haptics are responsive. But the screen is black. I've tried EVERYRHING suggested, nothing worked
nothing x.x i wish i had an answer im sorry. I bought my steamdeck from amazon because it isnt available in my country and i know Steam can't replace it. the amazon seller is going to inspect it and replace it if they cant fix it@@SnapsZGaming

i did this but forgot to to put the screw sticker and the heatsink sticker on, is that safe to leave out im too tired to open the back up again just for some stickers
my steam deck has a similar issue except it shows a steam deck logo when turned on and stays on it forever. i can get into the bios and ive tried everything in this video + other things like trying to boot from file. any help would be appreciated i miss my deck
Could try a different OS, windows will boot on a steam deck, then after that perhaps try a new drive. It would be easier if you had a dock and an external drive you don't use that you can boot on any OS just to prove it will boot and confirm that it's likely a dead drive. If you're still under warranty you could contact valve, despite them using support tickets, they respond pretty quick and offer a good level of support.
@@jamesmacchione5050 i was able to download steamos recovery media to a usb using a different pc which let me reinstall the os after using it on the deck i'll try and find the tutorial i followed it was pretty easy to do
Nothing works, none of the valve tips they've sent me, none of the RU-vid videos work 😢 if i plug in power cable the light comes on but goes dim if i unplug it the light turns off. Bios mode does nothing
