Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) is a public health charity that works to eliminate the harm caused by tobacco. ASH was established in January 1971 by the Royal College of Physicians. We do not attack smokers or condemn smoking. The organisation is headed by the Chief Executive, Deborah Arnott, and governed by a Board of Trustees.
While we aim to be innovative and agenda setting in our work, our policies are always evidence based and follow a dual approach: - Information and networking: To develop opinion and awareness about the “tobacco epidemic” - Advocacy and campaigning: To press for policy measures that will reduce the burden of addiction, disease and premature death attributable to tobacco.
Have been smoking for over 50 years and at least 30 a day. Finally, I had enough of smelling like an ashtray and the car. So far, I have lasted 67 days without using any nicotine substitutes and saved over £300! Cravings have nearly gone, skin looks better, and cough has gone. Only problem is that my taste buds have returned and eating a lot more and putting on weight. Allowing myself 3 months then diet! Good luck to all those who want to quit. It can be done, you will feel better, and save a lot of money.
I'm from the US and searching for an online course utilizing e cigarettes for smoking cessation, from the UK or France or anywhere besides US! I hear your great debates and discussions but really need to be pointed to help online to implement with more support. Thank you SO MUCH for your brilliant discussions. 👏
Absolutely, it's important that people realise just how quickly quiting smoking is beneficial. Another immediate benefit, of course, is the end to damage caused to the lungs of those around you, born and unborn.

Great video! One question: Professor West didn't mention or endorse vapor as a recommended vehicle for delivery, yet it's shown in the graphic, front and center. Wondering, why is that?
"Smokers", "addicts", etc. is really stigmatizing language. I think we can all do better and stop stigmatizing people. When we slap a label on them, we are telling them they are lesser as a human. Setting them up to fail. How about "people who smoke"?
Fantastic!! Looking forward to more uploads. You should think about using SMZeus . c o m. It will help you get your videos higher in the search results!!!
Hi Praveen. You can view all of our resources on Article 5.3 here: ash.org.uk/local-resources/toolkit-article-5-3-framework-convention-tobacco-control/
Probably the most explanatory Webinar on the topic of nicotine in pregnancy that's emerged to date, I hope the veracity of this data changes the myopic perception amongst recalcitrant HCPs.
this is so stupid, a kid doesnt want something just because 'the packaging is cool' and even if they did, they would collect it not actually use it! people who want to smoke will always smoke, no matter if the packaging is plain white or not!
