My name is Daniel and along with Jake my dog we recently (9-1-23) relocated from eastern Long Island NY up to the White Mountain region of New Hampshire. RVing is no longer the game plan. Purchased a log cabin on 7 acres that will be improved including some raised garden beds, a green house, garage, barn/work shop, back-up solar system, a chicken coop, firewood shelter, wood cooking stove and more. (go to playlists to focus)
Learned some new skills over the past few years like canning, fermenting, herbal remedies, cast iron cooking, solar systems and generators, homestead security and protection, gardening, medical first aid, veterinary skills, carpentry, roofing, electric and plumbing to name just a few. Time well spent to prepare and expand my skills.
Come along for our new journey up into the White Mountains of New Hampshire! If you would like to subscribe and do the other RU-vid niceties we thank you. Most importantly though remember to always smile as Father truly loves you:)
The cabin is on a mountain that is hilly so going sideways is a NO-NO. Up the hill - down the hill. Although it was a tad nerve racking the first few times it is awesome. Thanks for watching and God Bless:)
Don't laugh but he/she came back again tonight and this time dragged the garbage can some 50 feet into the edge of the woods! So it is time to build a garbage bin right after I finish the raised garden beds or better yet before I finish the raised garden beds. Thanks for watching and God Bless:)
@@legaleagleandpaws8198 We took video only from inside AND we’ve been working on running them off. The cubs are curious and hungry and momma is nowhere to be seen but she has to be around. Fortunately it appears they went up about 500 feet in elevation as it’s getting too hot down where we’re at and the food sourcing is sketch and there’s more people around. Not attractive to bears as much as campsites in the park up above. The state park is only a mile away. We are hoping they are done scoping around our area! The cubs could do some real damage without their mom at this stage of their lives. Needless to say we aren’t going out after dusk. ✌️
All about keeping those blades sharp! But if the push mower just couldn't handle tall lush grass than sharp or not i understand. Good investment. Can be a nice little yard truck too many attachments! Edit: After watching further in your video, you obviously know everything i listed, your property is my dream property. I'm in NH as well. Gl enjoy that machine. Can't beat a john deere for a personal home mower they will last.
I have a similar John Deere to yours and it's about 22 years old. I bought it from a friend, it was his Dad's tractor and he took meticulous care of it. This is a great tractor and should serve you well for decades to come. Good luck with it.
One reason spindles go bad is not knowing how to grease them, The bearing are sealed just giving 3 pumps of grease does nothing, it takes 70 to 80 pumps before the grease will come our of the top and bottom of the spindle that will force the grease into the berring. Good Luck I have the LA105 and love it.
congratulations on your new mower. It looks nice, one tip if you want to keep this in great shape, the one I have now is a la 135 if you keep this indoors so the night moisture does not get at it with a little regular care this will last you a long time. I have had this one for over 10 years no issues because I keep it inside. Anyway, just a little tip. another thing wax it, it makes you feel good. lol. have a great day.
Two tips..... Be careful mowing that hill and always wear hearing protection when mowing! Ok a couple more since tips are free. The life of your deck is limited by how much effort you put into keeping the underside free of built up grass. Never store it with wet grass - rust never sleeps. Eventually, you will get noisy spindle shaft bearings. Do not pay for complete new jackshafts. You can rebuild yours by taking the bearing to a supply shop and purchasing replacement bearings. I just had to replace my LA145 with a 48 inch deck because I got lazy about cleaning the deck. I upgraded to a zero turn because my lawn is flat. Wish I had listened to my own tip about hearing protection. A lifetime of not being careful has really left me with severe hearing loss.
Ok. First off, remove that mower deck. Wont be needing that. Next, get a small cooler and mount it on side of seat. Fill it with beer and some JB, and you are ready to go! (You'll wanna make a deal to keep you from falling outta the seat later)
for a homeowner they will last for ever (if owned by a in the know person) , but yes stuff is designed to have a moderate life now a days, thats how they make their money unfortunately. Clowns will blow these up in the first year, never check oil never sharpen blades never grease, etc etc. This is a good machine
Well I did my first mow on a rather deep slope (25-ish degrees). It reminded me of when I got my 30ft Monterey with twin Merc cruisers and had to back into a slip to the dock for the first time. The mow took me some 2 hours and by the end of it was like driving a jet ski...lol. Lawn looks great too! Thanks for watching and God Bless:)
Hope it works well on the slopes here. HD gave me the 42 inch mulch plug and not the 48 so I had to order it on line not in store. As you know this should serve several functions besides just mowing the lawn. Thanks for watching! God Bless:)
I initially thought so too but it doesn't work like that. You cover JUST the top. While it can still get wet when its raining out when the rain stops the next few days nature will dry out what was wet. It is hardwood so they do not soak through and through even during the heaviest rain. Thanks for watching and God Bless:)
I initially thought the same thing but it doesn't work like that. You cover only the TOP. Even though during the rain the wood still gets wet a few days later it all dries out. Since it is hardwood it doesn't get soaked through and through even during a heavy rain and nature - sun and breeze - takes care of the rest. Thanks for watching and God Bless:)
Nice footage of that bear! I think it was a little bit too big to be a cub. Looks like it might’ve been a young juvenile. He or she is obviously still learning about the world, humans, and their dwellings.
Actually they do have fear - when I opened door and went outside telling him/her to go away that is when it ran away. And I was wondering if that would happen and was glad it did! Thanks for watching and God Bless:)
Thanks for watching - hope the kids got a kick out of it - it was rather awesome to be that close. I realized afterwards that when I said in the video the bear missed the bird feeder (the square wooden one that hangs) when going away that it was actually "empty" - that is what probably attracted it (leaving it empty now) on its way up to the cabin. Hope all is well, thanks for watching and God Bless:)
Thanks for watching! Within the next 48 hours (its April 1 , 2024) we are going to get 12 to 18 inches of "fresh snow" so be sure to watch when I make another video. Meanwhile enjoy the 70 degrees. God Bless:)
What part of NH did you end up in? I’m moving to Keene from the Midwest this year to use as a base of operations to find and buy a place in rural NH or Maine.
Omg. I can’t watch all this miss information without saying something. Dune road is not fire island. Hampton Nays is the south fork . It is not the V. Riverhead is. I am a Hampton Bays Born a raised. My family has been here since the 1800’s. I appreciate people that like our hamlet but you might want to get your facts straight
LOL...anything off the mainland long island (ie need a bridge to get there from the LI mainland) in my book is "fire island" all along the south shore. Is it all named "fire island" no... it changes names all the while. It was named "fire island" because they used to set fires on it to warn approaching ships who would often see the lights coming from mainland long island and incorrectly believe that was where the shore line was only to crash into fire island. So technically Dune road is Dune road, Smith's Point is Smith's point, Davis Park is Davis Park, Ocean Beach is Ocean Beach etc...etc it all "fire island" to many people and to me:) Thanks for watching and commenting.
Everything you said is true about Fire Island and when you look at a map, it looks like one long barrier island stretching along Long Islands South shore. I am a boater in both areas, so myself when on the water Considering your logic, as you say, looks like Fire Island to the South, because the oceans on the other side. Also since there are several inlets along the way, e.g. fire island, Moriches, and shinecock inlets so fire island is actually more than one barrier island considering this. Now people from Hampton Bays are also correct in what they say, because it is not NAMED FI in that in that area, they laugh you out of town. In fact I'll throw some more in the discussion... many people believe Hampton Bays is an island in and of itself. Your logic...You have to cross the shinecock canal BRIDGE to get there from East. From the South is the ocean crossing the Ponquouge BRIDGE, the North is Peconic Bay and technically coming east through Quouge you are crossing over several salt water tributaries which are in fact bridges along MontaukHwy, , etc. This was in the great Hampton Bay's documentary here on RU-vid.
Dune Rd. South Hampton or Hampton bays....? "Fire Island" not Quite Captain...know Ronnie and the Boys there wel( bought a Polaris there)l ...Knew Doug Oakland...God rest Him...This piece of paradise has Changed so much thru time...some of Us were here since he 60's... when the Boardy Barn was 4 draft beers for a buck! And all the free hot dogs you could PUKE!...
Tell Ronnie I said hello got a ski from him too. Oh yes $.25 beers at the Boardy Barn...those were the good old college days not to mention the OBI east which then became CPI...and the place across the canal too. Thanks for watching.
I dislike the charging brick. I currently have e1500 pro which charges extremely fast. And I don't need a huge brick or a second one. So why is it so difficult to charge this unit? Not difficult but two charging bricks?
I hear you but it is what it is. While I have the "bricks" it is really for the solar charging. A really good unit which is now on sale at Pecron's site - I would stay away from Amazon and order it directly from them its free shipping. Thanks for watching and God Bless:)
Found your channel because of your Pecron unboxing should be getting mine today. Smith point beach that just brought back a million memory's Lots of good times at that beach with family and friends growing up. Moved to Tampa 18 years ago because it was to expensive to raise my family. No regrets but I do miss it from time to time.
Been there done that bought the t-shirt and it has changed over the years. Now I am going to try the mountains of Vermont or New Hampshire. Thanks for watching:)
GOT MY PECRON TODAY WITH CODE ! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SkIJwGEPRu0.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yLqtWO34aVs.html
I'm also considering this one versus the Bluetti AC200Max. I'm going to order the 2 batteries in Oct/Nov 2022 if I order this one. What are your thoughts about this company's reliability? Have you used them before? Thanks for your posting...
That is funny as I was torn between the same two!!! I went with Pecron though because it seemed to offer more and was less expensive. It is well built and works quite well. I am waiting to get at least one expansion battery hope they come out soon. That will tell the whole story but so far I thing the Pecron is better. Many times the Chinese companies actually make really good products I think Pecron is one them:) Thanks for watching and commenting. God Bless.
@@legaleagleandpaws8198 I ordered the Pecron with Trolley kit and 2 PVs yesterday. After a LOT of research, they were the lowest cost per Wh and could expand to what we need. Not ready to put solar panels on roof and power the whole house, so this is perfect. Looking forward to expansion batteries. Thanks and God bless.
