fucking beautiful. I love this. ALL THE OTHER TARDIS MODS NEED is a nice little ui where I can type in my coords and stuff. I get flack from the other devs because they like to dance around their consoles and smack shit at random. TY for including basic functionality that the rest dismiss.
so what if you can't use valkyrien skies due to it lagging and other stuff I don't like about the mod do I have to use it when the time vortex mod it's gets updated?
Ya know like, "legends" Mod? Theres a speedforce dimension, which is sorta like time vortex. Maybe you could make the skybox something like that? The mods will be awesome anyways tho
Gosh, I long for the day when Valkyrien Skies and Immersive Portals are compatible. I don't even care so much about ships going through portals, or having portals on ships, I just want to have both in the same world. And with this mod, possibly being able to use both in the future, it would be _so_ good. And if VS ships _can_ go through portals at some point, having your TARDIS open a portal to the time vortex mid-flight, and then to the destination, would be an awesome way to integrate it.
That would be incredible I didn't even think of that, unfortunately though immersive portals is listed as "buggy" on the compatibility list for valkyrien skies and I really want to try hard to make this rendition of TVM stable

Long list of cool ideas (i felt inspired and wrote an entire update ❤️): - Vortex dimension is made from different vortex blocks which break instantly. They work like powdered snow. Touching them for 3 seconds makes a cool vortex image appear and teleports you to a random place & dimension. Breaking them teleports you instantly. - Breaking Vortex blocks drops nothing unless you use a Vortex Harvester: A leaf blower looking tool that allows you to suck in (break) Vortex Blocks which drop Vortex Plasma. It also prevents you from getting teleported while breaking them. It ALSO allows you to suck in mobs and players and items for trolling Vortex plasma is a 2d blue looking sphere item with animated lightning around it, which can be used to power the Tardis (more explanation below) - By default the vortex core does nothing, it must to be hit by lightning to be powered. It also attracts lightning by itself. You can still use a channeling trident to power it. The vortex core has a % amount of charge. A lightning strike powers it 60%. It drains if you fly. In the vortex dimension it decharges faster. - If you power the vortex core with redstone it turns it off. - Idk if you're good with vfx but when a Tardis is near vortex blocks there's a chance lightning will try to strike it from a vortex block. Because vortex lightning is so strong, your vortex core will short circuit and lose some % of energy if the Tardis gets hit. Getting hit also has a chance to make the Tardis spin. - If the vortex core breaks or runs out of power your Tardis falls to the ground. If it happens in the vortex dimension you and your Tardis get teleported the amount of % away from your desired destination. If the Tardis gets hit or shot a fair amount of times (except by lightning) the vortex core will turn off. Giving it 20% more power will turn it on again. - Vortex Absorber Block: When lightning hits your Tardis it absorbs the energy and feeds 10% to the vortex core. Also prevents spinning. Block has a face and must be placed facing the vortex core to transfer energy. When energy gets transfered it shoots lightning to the core. Best placement of it would be below the core. So it's kinda like the thing below the console in 11th doctor's Tardises, neat! Anything hit by this lightning takes immense damage and items get destroyed. - Vortex Battery Block: Stores vortex lightning energy. On the side of the block you can see an energy bar. Right clicking it opens a Gui with a single slot for putting in vortex plasma. 1 vortex plasma = 1% power. The battery acts like a furnace slowly converting vortex plasma into power. If a vortex battery gets shot by a vortex absorber it will take that energy. If a vortex absorber is next to a battery and receives a redstone pulse it will shoot an amount of its energy - Allow computercraft to display vortex core energy and battery energy - Make the vortex core look.. cooler. I mean it kinda acts like the heart of the Tardis so it deserves more care than other blocks. Add cool vfx to it - If you fall into the void in the vortex or Tardis dimension you get teleported to the top of the map. Loop like behavior. - If you die in the Tardis you spawn in the overworld to prevent getting softlocked in case there's no door. - Idk how the Tardis dimension works with multiple Tardises but it would still be an interesting mechanic imo, if you had a limit on how big your interior can get and had to upgrade the range. Mechanic: You can't place blocks outside of a range around the vortex core. - Add infinite dimensions like from the infinity update snapshot so there's places to explore cuz that's what's missing from all Dr. Who mods, whats the point of a Tardis if you can't go anywhere fun? Add custom structures like space ships, bases that can spawn in these dimensions with Daleks, Cybermen, etc. - Add a plasma gun to aid fight said enemies. Uses vortex plasma as fuel. - Laser shield: High durability shield that deflects projectiles with full momentum but you cant use it for 2 seconds after blocking one hit. - Vortex Manipulator: A portable Tardis with less features. Right clicking with it opens a GUI. You can set dimension and choose coordinates and increments. It also shows the last 5 places you went to. Uses vortex plasma as fuel. Crouch + right click sends you to the vortex dimension. You basically become a Tardis flying through it until you end up at your destination. You also don't get teleported by touching or breaking vortex blocks. Misc: - Custom skybox in vortex dimension, more fog - Immersive portals integration for the Tardis doors - Allow the Tardis to materialize in the Tardis dimension, would be cool and trippy with immersive portals - Remove the "loading world" screen idk how but immersive portals did it somehow? It would make vortexing feel 20% cooler and more seamless.
immersive portals, the new energy, and the infinite dimensions are the main things i needed, the new energy with % is better, you never run out with the current energy, too fast generating

Would be cool to see a custom skybox in the vortex dimension, or at the very least remove the sun cuz it's out of place. Btw what happens to the player if they fall off and get stuck in the vortex?
Yeah a custom skybox is on the list for sure. I think I'm gonna have a similar system as before where you can find an npc in the vortex that will trade you tardis parts in case you get stuck.
THIS IS AMAZING, i like this feature since its accurate as the short distances in doctor who, will long distance stay as vortex? like another dimension or thousands of blocks?
Yeah it's gonna send you to vortex if there's something in the way preventing you from going directly to your destination or if it's more than 250 blocks away.
So, you have seen me before talking about creating a MineHopLite, i decided to create a separate comment asking about also adding to the config a way to reduce initial fall damage height, because I found it to be difficult to create very much good movement (in survival) when you cant fall from higher than a singular block (2 blocks including the jump), maybe make it so you can change it via a number for full blocks? it removes a lot of the satisfaction when your speed resets after every instance of fall damage you take. another suggestion i have (that feels far less essential) is to enable a form of water skimming and slope surfing, the water skimming could just keep your speed upon entering water (and slow down after like 15 blocks) and surfing could work by a variety of triggers, such as shift clicking a stair block with ice to "slope-ify" it, giving source physics to that block (in fact, if you really figure it out, this could work awesomely for almost all hitboxes, like slabs and odd blocks like anvils or bells) otherwise, the minehoplite that you made was super cool, I appreciate you
@@fall2zero the fall damage isn’t negated in minehop lite though because I wanted to keep it completely client side, I guess I need to make mine hop medium
I just released a forge version of MinehopLite, it's going to take a while to make a forge version of the main Minehop build. The version of MinehopLite I released also doesn't have the hud yet.
I was just telling my buddy a few days ago I wish the squake mod would get an update this seems like it might be even better - gonna install this when I get home later!
maybe also add other forms of hopping like abh(accelerated backwards hopping), ash(accelerated sideways hopping) ect of course with a toggle for accelerated hopping
There’s now a version called MinehopLite that’s also on Curseforge and Modrinth. This version does not have any of the map creation tools, server features, or commands. It’s just the movement and nothing else.
is there a survival friendly version of this? like a "minehop lite" that would let you create this in survival and even turn this on or off so that you can play normal minecraft with 2-3 friends and then compete with this mod
very unique mod, i love how instead of a straight up 11D like all else mods, this uses the mechanic of you have a starter 3x3 module which you can upgrade and basic at first, aswell as not needing complex recipes and just items from normal minecraft, aswell as it being in the latest versions, i also like how the travelling trader gives a way to escape if you were the kind that wouldnt use cheats to escape which you would need in other mods, all the things to add is a good feature, aswell as others for multiplayer, the artron equalizer was also a good addition in my opinion, but i only have one problem, sometimes when in the timevortex dimension, the tardis just disappears the non-console (the area you stand on) part if not 11D, so then i fall and it goes so im just stuck there, is that intentional for non-11Ds or a bug?
