I live in Buxton and VB. I split like 9/3 months out of the year between the two but I was in the OBX for this. Where'd you guys go out at? Any trouble with beach closures
Hey Lucca, I love the new rig and thank you for posting. I have a similar boat however mine is not nearly as beautiful. It’s a 1985 Privateer 16’ with a center console and a flat cap like yours. I purchased it back in November but haven’t used it yet. Mine has a 50hp Johnson two stroke and I’m guessing she’ll go 30-35mp on a good day. I’ve brought the original gel coat back to life and went through the entire motor for preventive maintenance purposes. I’m impressed by how well built these skiffs are made. Although the boat’s original construction has fiberglass wrapped wooden stringers and marine plywood base floor, the fiberglass floor is about 3/8” thick. The wood floor base was to support the top layers of fiberglass as the boat was constructed, it’s the fiberglass deck that is the true structural aspect of construction. The floor is still solid, and the transom is bone dry, I got lucky. I like how your rig is clean no-frills setup with no junk in the way! I’m inspired 👍 Stay awesome and enjoy!
