Salt is applied because * The salt is antimicrobial, which helps to kill bacteria and other microorganisms on the fish, making it safer to eat. * Marine water fish is sometime preserved in formalin.. * it has strong odor. So it is better to rub it with little salt ... Wash it and then cook🙂
