The problem is: who profits from the technology? As long privatized companies (and not the public) own and sell products to the public, the public will be at risk because - just like selling sugar - corporations have no problem selling death and disease if they can turn a profit. If consumers want producers to look out for our interests, we must collectively own production. Otherwise, buyer beware.
