Welcome to Lauren Hughes Realtor and Investor, as a licensed Realtor in Roatan Honduras, and The United States as well as an Accredited Investor, we will be talking about all things Real Estate and Living the Expat/Immigrant Life in Roatan Honduras. I will be talking about what has actually happened to me in my career on my journey building wealth through real estate living in two countries-REAL Stories, not just stuff I have read about. We will also dive into my live, living as an immigrant in Roatan Honduras. This series is not a silver bullet, I talk about tried and true principles that have worked for generations. I will be focused on helping home buyers and sellers maximize their experience with home ownership and building wealth through real estate. I will only talk about topics that I actually have experience with and that have worked, or in many cases I tried and it did not turn out well. I look forward to hearing your real estate dreams and goals.--Lauren

Looking to come spend 2 months in Roatan next summer. Been there a few times before and to Utila. Love them both. Coming from Cayman where I am and my GF and the 2 girls are in San Pedro Sola. Thanks for the videos.
Hello Lauren. Thank you for your very informative videos on Roatan. However, most of your analysis is based on "permanent" living and/or property purchasing in Roatan. However, I (like many others I think) are there temporarily, for +/- 6 months for digital nomad work. Any ideas on the home rental pool (apartment or house)? In regards to transportation, would it be "thinkable" to expect easy access to car and scooter rentals nearby? I was even thinking of purchasing a used scooter to help us get around.
Hi Rick, thank you for watching. Yes, I do focus on permanent or purchasing a home since this channel is used to market my real estate business. I am happy to add a temporary digital nomad video. Thanks for commenting and watching!
Rentals for 6 months will depend on the season, Dec-April are high season. I would expect $1000K USD a month plus for a one bedroom with good internet and AC. For the Cars, the monthly rates are about $1000-1500 or $50-100/day. Cars hold their value, so you could spend $5-10k on a car and sell it for about the same when you leave. Used scooters are an option too. I would probably look to buy a new scooter or Moto for about $1000-1500, then you can sell it for about 20% less than what you paid for it.
I'll be leaving from Texas with a dog. How do I find hotels in that area in Mexico that will allow dogs? Also do you suggest I take someone who speaks Spanish for when we go through each border to translate?
Hi Mary, speaking some spanish will definitely help at the boarders. In mexico I stayed at dog friendly Marriott's through mexico. I believe there is an app called BringFido that searches for pet friendly hotels. I also used airbnb in a pinch.
I have not done a video of that home in Utila, the only home videos I have are in Roatan. I have drone and exterior of Utila but nothing that is on the market right now.
Hi, you first have to find a broker that is willing to take you on as an agent, then you go to the Municipal and pay an annual fee. It is pretty simple. We have several brokerages on the island to choose which one is best for you.
Thank you for the information! So valuable! My wife and I love your positive vibes! I’m Honduran and she’s Argentinean American. We are moving to Roatan at the beginning of next year, and we’re super excited! Please continue making detailed videos of everyday life 🙌
@@JessicaJosie it is usually good, less crowded. It is during our rainy season but we usually have a day or two of rain, mostly at night and then sunny during the day.
Great question. I would check with Hyde or Hybur shipping, they ship both ways. However, you will need an import agent in the US. I have never shipped anything back, so I have no personal experience. Good Luck!
