@@claydankewich9582 definitely! “20 rock” is the only rapid of concern, and it’s not that bad imo. Hit the middle of the big waves and plow through and you should be fine.
Im a relativly new paddler, if i go with a group and bring a pfd would you recomend this cave? I have a head light so it would be too dark but from this video Im not sure how easy it would be to get stuck in the bottom of that cave.
@@okdude9574if you have some river experience you should be okay. The tunnel is shallow, getting stuck isn’t really a concern as much as getting disoriented. It is a little claustrophobic feeling. Definitely wear a PFD and don’t go alone.
@@johndombrosky412 I’ve done it with my new 75lb set up. Should be fine. You could always work the pulleys to get a better ratio, I just had a hard time getting it to lift both sides evenly so I stuck with the method mentioned in the video.
There was so much going on at that time I didn’t even notice! I was just chasing everyone’s gear. lol. Not sure to be honest, our whole group went river right.
@@chuanne2 it started slow. Buzz bait and black worm were on my second round of lures to tie on. it turned out to be a pretty solid day once I made the switch though
Awesome Bud, you’re tearing them up, you’re in my neck of the woods, I live right down the rd, the first time I floated that section of river my brother dropped me off where you launched about noon, I got a little drunk and passed out on the river bank down river, I woke up almost at sunset and ended floating in the dark and almost flipped numerous times so I tied my kayak up and started walking through the woods, got lost and slept in the woods all night lol, I found your channel a few weeks ago, subbed and been watching all your videos, it’s cool seeing fishing content in my area, I make treasure hunting videos been trying to incorporate fishing in them too, I fish a lot of the same places as you, I’m 47 and lived in Cherokee County all my life so I’m familiar with a lot of these places, thanks for sharing Bud, I enjoyed it, Good Luck🎣
@@SammyBenitez I hear ya, same here...more free time needed. You might be converting me from Lake fishing to River fishing, at least when using kayaks.
I've installed around 25 tvs with Harbor Freight TV mounts. From the smallest one to the largest full motion mount, you can not beat them. They are an excellent deal.
@@hubgold487 i cleaned the grates every cook, the bottom I might have done a couple times but it was a lot harder without a removable bottom. New grill still going strong. I can use my metal scrub brush to get the grates back to stainless steel. I’ve cleaned the bottom out a few times, it honestly looks new after I clean it. I have replaced the guards over the burners once. I haven’t cleaned the window and don’t use that feature. Grills been great so far.
Ive been kinda scared to kayak from the tailwater ramp. I assumed the water was very fast and unpredictable with the dam opening at times but it doesn't looks so bad in your video. maybe ill give it a try this weekend. looks like some great fishing. Im new to it all and have only been bass fishing on Lanier.
@@TheATFshotmyGerbil the dam release schedules are posted online about 24-48hrs in advance. Always subject to change, but that’s how we plan these floats.

The take out down river will be where hwy 136 intersects with the Etowah. As far as I know, there is no shuttle/rental in this area. You can reach out to Murphs Surf shop or Festive Water Paddle sports about rental kayaks.
Yeah I wanted to get something as big as a kayak and put a troll motor on each side, and have it be steered like a tank wood throttle one to go in one direction throttle down throttle the other one to go in the opposite direction throttle both to go forward, what do you think????
Nice Sammy! That 2nd one was a stud! Lanier is not the easiest to kayak fish but hard to beat a 4lb spot! Thanks for sharing with us. And I do thing that one that jumped was a bass...he was showing off 😄
ALL trolling motors max out at 5 mph people. Don't matter if it's 20 or 200 LB. THRUST. 6 or 60 volts. More thrust will move a heavier object better, THAT'S IT. I wish these ninnies would stop posting stupid videos on " how fast will my ... go " . The answer is FIVE MAX.

You said your spending your time on rivers now. Should check out chestatee river, the upper etowah river trail, the toccoa river trail, the Chattooga River, if yall willing to add one more to the group id be down to float and shuttle. Have rack on my old truck and or trailer

I have not been in over a year. I did sell my boat and have since dedicated most of my time to rivers. But fishing reports at HLCR have been generally the same as always
