holy crap! I know its her last night and there was high energy at the beginning... but DAMN. Not only were glinda and elphaba off from each other but the orchestra was off too.... otherwise amazing performance. but that beginning was WAY OFF
Oriana F I am celebrating as we speak! The more Erin fans the merrier. Lovely to meet you. And if you would like to hear more from her. I'm more then happy to share. :)
I've never heard Erin before, she sounds absolutely amazing, what a soprano! I really do like Lucy too in this role, but mostly for her acting and her belting. They both act the part very well though!
Justin Hogue Lucy Durack. The quality is absolutely horrid. I saw Lucy and Patrice in early 2010 and honestly, you could hear a pin drop at intermission. People stayed seated for a few minutes to get over the shock of that final note. I literally sat awe struck with my eyes stinging. Literally breath taking and dumbfounding.

I think it's harsh to expect a performer to be perfect all the time. No one is, we all learned that from Idina's NYE and the very class way she explained who she is. Patrice probably feels the same way. They do their best and we appreciate it even more when they can bring it.
PurpleRain1- Hey there! How have you been? You won't believe the incredible news I just discovered. Erin has been cast as Phoebe in the revamped North American National Tour of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
first time listening to Patrice Tipoki's... my god, she is absolutely brilliant! sounds abit like Eden Espinosa i reckon :D But the Glinda..is it Lucy Durack? don't remember her being that annoying to listen to..
I like Lucy, I really do, but I've never liked her voice as Glinda. I love Erin's voice. She does have a tendency to go a bit sharp on some notes at the end of songs, but overall she seems to have support her voice better and therefore has a lot more control. I think Lucy would be better if she didn't sing through her nose - she would be fine in this role without that.
Elphaba was amazing in this clip. She wasn't the problem as she hit every note beautifully. Galinda, however, sounds like a mouse here which is why it sounds like the clip is going so fast. The two of them singing together just didn't sound good, because all I heard was Galinda.
i honestly don't understand why so many people are hatin on this video! I don't even remotely see how this is at ALL bad. Patrice has one of the most unique and strong elphaba voices I've heard! C'mon people show some respect.
I am literally just sitting here replaying her riff. I just keep restarting from 6:43 over and over again. I want it to be my ringtone, this is how much I love that riff.
same here i don't think ANY Elphaba has taken that note to that height before. i wonder if she was saving it fir that performance since it was her last.
