It's more like a keychain than a pocket watch. This is one of my first watches, it is over 30 years old. The case of this model was gilded and in some places the gold had worn away to the metal. There is no point in restoring it, but since the mechanism itself is in excellent condition, I decided to make something like a keychain out of it.
I don't always use different ones. It depends on what kind of leather is used for the face. For example, the shown in this video can also be used on the bottom of the strap. But still, for the bottom it is better to use leather that has good protection from moisture (sweat).

Это вариант вообще на любителя. Или у кого аллергия на металл. Я ношу такой же ремешок, за еще и с манжетой. Не заметил, чтобы что-то забивалось. Но зависит от работы, конечно.
@@NovgorodskyLeatherCraft Тут даже не столько аллергия, сколько защита корпуса часов от пота. Латунные хромированные корпуса разъедает быстро, а часы с влагостойкостью в 3-5 атм и крышкой-хлопушкой могут отпотевать от влаги с руки. Я клеил не на ПВА, а на БФ именно из-за влаги.
@@user-hc7ew1vk7j я не ПВА использую :) Это латексный клей EcoSAR 116/1000. Ну а там, где нужна особая прочность, использую наиритовый SAR 30E. Вонючий жутко, но склеивает на века.
looks nice. for anyone wondering, the pattern of holes cut on the band is called broguing in show making and they make punches that do the whole thing for you. if you search for "brogue tool" you'll find them. that way you don't need 2 separate punches to do the pattern, if you're short on tool space. <3
