I saw Metallica twice in the early and mid 90s. Once at the old Giants Stadium in NJ. Bruce was playing that same night at the old Continental Arena (later called Izod Arena). Hatfield made fun of Bruce from the stage. By that point, I was in my mid 20s and had seen Bruce a dozen times (and now over 50 times). I thought to myself at that show, "you guys should go see Bruce live". Some time later, Metallica does go see Bruce live and they had their "a-ha moment". Bruce said countless times that Rock music saved his life and he performs that way still to this day. Metallica is great and so is Bruce. Glad to see musicians respect talent even if the music is a different style.
I'm a rock/metal guy and I like some of Springsteen's songs but can't say I am a fan. On the flipside, I really dig Sam Fender who is a massive Springsteen fan. It's either for you or it ain't.
@_Game0ver_ Dude...Bruce is gritty and bluesy...and his music is the definition of rock and roll. Again...I don't get how anyone into rock...wouldn't dig Bruce.
I found lots of similarities between Bruce and James whenever they're playing live. Their stage presences are pretty much alike. By the way I'm surprised he doesn't really like Springsteen's music since he loves country and classic American folk music, though.
A little speculation: I think this interview was in Working On A Dream too. Unlike many Springsteen fans, I like that album but it's not the wildest of his work, so perhaps for Heatfield was too soft.
I don’t have that bike anymore. I traded it in for a heritage softail. I remember those bars were terrible. Maybe burly fixed them now but they would shift forward when I stopped a couple of inches too-not safe. I threw them away & got the cheap 14’s from JP Or some site. $49 & they fit perfectly & held solid. I like the mayhem or meathook bars, prewired is way to go. What a pain in the rear to try to run wires thru those too. My bike is all stock now anyway. Good luck hope I helped. www.dominatorcycles.com/products/product-5-2014-2020-touring-pre-wired-bars
I am not a huge heavy metal fan or a Metallica fan in terms of the music, but I find that the metal guys have some of the most inciteful interviews. I thought the Metal Show on VH1 always did really good interviews. Hetfield really comes across as an open-minded guy and someone who really appreciates other artists', no matter what their genre is, work ethic. This reminded me of an interview where Lemme talked about how he was influenced by Little Richard, I wish I remembered where the interview came from.
I threw them away bc I screwed them up trying to drill my own holes & bars were too skinny & hard to run wires thru, maybe if they have them pre drilled now great but I just went with a cheap standard pair of 16's off JP for $50 & I'm loving them
I just put the phone on the mount right before x12 & hit record but I was too late to catch you coming thru from parsippany I should have thought about it sooner
The only thing better than seeing Bruce live today was seeing him live in the 1970's. Fotunate to have seen him then, hungry phenomenal performances, nothing like it. Captivating even if you don't like the music, an extremely rare talent.
Mike is it possible for you to share more "where is casey kasems corpse?" They are gold and I cannot find them anywhere online! Awesome I found the two you posted!
