Hard Harder and Hardest Hitting group of 49ers (💪) EVER*!! NO Qb would or could hold the football long enough to make a long pass downfield!! 75⁰/⁰ of the plays it was like that 49ers defense had 12 defenders and the offense only had 10, I've seen it before, but not as often as this 49ers squad!!! These fellas got on some great BIG, BIGGER & BIGGEST ROLLS in full on NFL HISTORY. #F'n fun to watch😮😅
Hate how the legion of boom is seen as a “secondary” it’s a defense BOBBY WAGNER, BRUCE IRVIN, KJ WRIGHT, CLIFF AVRIL MALCOM SMITH, MICHAEL BENNET there was studs everywhere
The name Legion of Boom came from a radio. (Bob and Groz) They had the fans come up with names for the secondary and that was one of them... and it stuck
Refs in that nfcc were literally the worst. Shouldnt have even been playing in Seattle. Refs bad call in the saints game where ahmad brooks "clotheslined" drew brees. put us as the 2 seed instead of the 1.
the Legion of Boom was as good as any defense in NFL history... the 1985 Bears, or the Ravens D in 2000, or the Bucaneers of 2002.. or the Steel Curtain..
Well it started as those 4 but really turned into Kam, Earl, Sherm and the rotation at the other CB spot. I agree with you that the backfield was the LOB but time erodes memories and now people have shifted to saying it's the entire defense. We know the truth.
@@mneugent7658 It did evolve into the entire secondary but the original name was those 4. Other fan suggested options were 3 and a half men and I think 4 horsemen of the apocalypse….
@@northof4912 It didn't evolve into the entire secondary, those 4 WERE the entire secondary. It started out as and stayed the entire secondary. I said it evolved, years later, into the entire defense in people's memories. It was always only the secondary and yes, I know those 4 were the original 4. But LOB lasted much longer than Browner did so it became those 3 and whomever was the other CB. During its existence it was never the entire defense but, as I said, people are now saying it was. They're all wrong.
He sure should be but they'll say his career wasn't long enough. It's ridiculous that these guys play such a violent game but when that violence shortens a player's career they say "sorry, you didn't play long enough". That can be their only case against him being in the HOF.
Now replace those names (respectfully) with If you got pass Bosa you would be met by Warner,GreenLaw,then would be waiting Hufanga . Just need a Defensive Coordinator like we had in Fangio 🙌🙌🙌🔥🔥
This defense is statistically the greatest to ever do it and all under Rex Ryan. People always say doomsday, steel curtain, purple people eaters defense but what about this team what should they be nicknamed and why don’t people praise them as much as those defensive groups from the 70s era
Aldon Smith is kinda a sad story of someone not living up to their potential then making big mistakes. But I recently saw his instagram and he seems to be happy in life, so I’m glad for that. He could have seriously had a special career though.
Holy shit Seattle scored every time they ran that play down there. It was a bad throw and a bad route. If that one play broke your team, I don’t know what to say.
Sorry its so long but it needs explaining. It wasn't so much the play as it was the cloud of what that play call said that was the issue. If that play call was a very good choice then handing the ball to the most unstoppable RB in the league at the time was a GREAT choice. I'd say 98% of Seahawks fans just KNEW that THE star of the team, Marshawn, was getting the ball. 3 chances starting from a few feet out. It crushed the fans. BUT, what the players were saying was the issue going forward. The rumors were that Pete wanted his golden boy to be the hero. Like you said, the play they did call was a good call so why not let Russ be the hero and get the MVP? The players didn't like that Pete, who was not the usual play caller in any way, was playing individual favorites on the field. There have been numerous verified statements from players that they didn't really love Russ. He wasn't one of them and as some players said "he wasn't black enough". Basically he was a nerd who was playing the CEO long game, acting more like an extension of the coaching staff than one of the boys. He was Pete's assistant basically and pandering to that with an iffy (to many) play call in the goddamned Super Bowl was too much betrayal to many of the players. Look how Earl Thomas went out with a middle finger on the field to Pete. Pete was a GREAT coach but he coddled Russ too much. Look what Russ did in Denver. He got an office on the 3rd floor of the HQ and anyone who has ever played for the Broncos says NO ONE went to the 3rd floor unless you were asked up there.
@@mneugent7658 One thing to add to all that is think what it did to Marshawn too, and his attitude towards Pete. Later on he told that story where he walked up to Petes face and laughed mockingly after the bad call.
@@Schlotskers Yeah I saw that clip. It's hilarious. He did the right thing, it was a HORRIBLE call. But Marshawn did come back for the playoff run/playoffs a few years later out of retirement. Actually did really well. Gotta love Marshawn.
Yeah , my son called him the CANCELER ! Yup he canceled football plays ! He should have been the MVP when they did a beat down on the bronco’s in the SUPERBOWL !
Only reason ya’ll didn’t win more is the offense, i am a diehard cowboys fans and trust me I wish we could have a defense even close to this unit. If so there wouldn’t be no debate about our quarterback because his play is 1000% better than Dilford we’d have at least 4-5 rings with Dak .
