Hi Chris! I've discovered your podcast few weeks ago and this is one of the most underrated I've seen on RU-vid.😱 Amazing quality of content, for free, every week, with amazing guests, for years. I don't get why you don't have 200k views on each. I'd love to join your slack but the link doesn't work for me ( redirects to a slack dl page).Would it be too much if I ask you to make an invite? Thanks !
We don't know either, but if you figure it out let us know. Either way, thank you so much for the kind words! Glad you are enjoying it. Check out the Human Behavior Conference in Oct.
Christopher, maybe it’s time to improve your book Social Engineering: The Science of Human Hacking 6 years have passed, or write a new one, since then there have been about 100+ podcasts, new research, etc.
@Social-Engineer Ty for your wonderful channel. I send these to all the really young people I know (age 16 to 25). They are tech savvy, but not quite street savvy. This info could end up saving a life ... or lives. 🙏🏼
Yoga Sutras, Vedas, Upanishads,…. (Are the earliest documents of writings, aside from cave paintings and hieroglyphics. nonetheless , are divinely accurate and absolutely non religious , in fact. But,….. “to each his own “. Respectfully.
Another fantastic episode. Thank you for sharing! I believe a lot of this conversation can also be applied to the "hustle culture" that we see so much of today.
22:36 - Having being raised by the early internet. I would have to strongly disagree with that statement that the internet is void of empathy. I have learned so much and I am the good person I am today because of good influences. The internet is not some 'other' place. It is the wires that connect all of us together. Even the bots have human masters... (For now). There are good and bad people out there. Thanks to the internet. We are a lot closer. For better or worse. What life lessons someone might learn living on the street are the same lessons you'll learn online. We need 'internet smarts' like you have 'street smarts'. At the end of the day, there are no new scams. Just new ways to do them.
This is a very valid viewpoint. Thank you for sharing it. And you are right, we shouldn't have made a blanket statement that makes an absolute. What we truly meant was the anonymity of the Internet allows some people to feel empowered to be calloused and cold and bully others. But that is NOT everyone, there are a lot of great people out there doing great things. Thank you for sharing your input!
I've noticed this principle at play in the early stages of dating, where within the first 3 days, it feels like love bombing or suddenly making future plans with you without getting to actually know you. Similarly, in business settings, some individuals use this principle by discussing how money (the one "we" will be making) will be allocated for their future plans.
Indeed, my first thought is always: If it worked for them it doesn't mean is going to work for me so, why are you pressuring me into taking x action? ... Critical thinking is definitely an asset.
I originally listened to this on Spotify but needed to come and find this somewhere that I can comment, just so that I can say: Dam! This is the best session on communication and security strategy that I've listened to in a VERY long time. Awesome work and keen to hear more like this!
My boss will pick out certain phrases or words people use with him in conversation and then weave them into his responses. And he doesn't always use some terms in a correct way, so he sometimes sounds like a noodle. Which is how i started picking up on him doing it. In relaity he's probably just trying to develop a connection by mirroring the person. But it personally bothers me
