It’s a beautiful world, open your eyes! My page has a little of everything from flying the DGI Mini 3 pro drone and photography featuring wildlife in my area, plus life living on a Barge.
I have had many decades of experience in both design for print and the web as well, with additional tools in my arsenal like photography and illustration.
There is over a decades worth of home movies and more. Skiing Holidays many years back to boating trips on the river Camb and Ouse in Cambridgeshire. Trips on Dutch Barges and Widebeam Narrowboats, negotiating locks and tight river tributaries. Views to be seen on the river. A selection of my photography, wildlife nature animals people and landscapes.
Please take a moment to look at my photographic portfolio's there are link's provided below!
The older movies are very amateur in nature and purely of the home movie style just for family and friends. Also the technology over a decade ago was very primitive by today's standards.
Stunning shots yet again, and what an epic soundtrack. Thanks for the views and historical information in the description. Question, at the very end there is a small red boat with some kind of fork tool on the front. Is that something for cleaning the algae or something?
Gee thanks Josh, the small boat is a weed/reed cutter and munches all in its greedy path, for clearing the rivers. It was parked next to the River Police boat, well the EA (Environment Agency) Boat.
What an absolutely relaxing journey that was. My favorite is the close-ups of the lilly pads and also going under the bridges. Thanks for showing us the beauties your country has to offer and thanks for the thorough and informative history in the description. Very interesting!🍻 Good parking spot too!
Yeah premium parking especially for Pirates! 🏴☠ Thanks Josh thought you would like to the a bit of the thousands of years of history of the area. Vikings, Normans Kelts and Saxons.
Yeah you had me going, thought who are these people I was sure I could recognise the voices from some podcast and was wracking my brain as to how they found me and had any information on me, you evil Joshling. Then thought no this cant be real as my other braincell activated. AI is scary. 😉🤭🤔🤨🤐😵💫🧐
This might just be my favorite video! Very well edited. Great intro and logo as well. I like the Indiana Jones map and red line at the beginning. What a truly beautiful place you have. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Geez thanks Josh, what can I say, I try and I try but I can not lie I need the material to be able to fly! Big difference using DaVinci as apposed to iMove is like the old days when I used Premiere, a much more polished pice of software. Thanks again you old smooth talker. 😁🤗🤔😉
Brilliant mate , love a good church video , this one didn’t disappoint! Great footage and editing with sound effects too! Liked and dropped you a sub 👍👏
@@TrogART haha your welcome mate, great video that! Just means I am following you’re channel , you just click the subscribe button and you can see what videos they post then 🙂
Really beautiful shots again. There are so many lilly pads floating around. Are there a lot of frogs and mosquitos and snakes? Can you just go anywhere you want or you have to have a permit to dock?
Hi Josh, I pay to be able to moor at that particular marina, it has electricity and water points all to hand, this is handy for working from the boat. When out and about on the boat I either use my batteries or generator to top up the batteries. There is a bank of batteries on the boat and massive water tanks for washing etc. You do get the occasional grass snake but they are not a problem, the only poisonous snake in the UK is an adder, they cant kill unless very young or very old, but having been bitten twice on the hand once in a cave I can sure you its not great, massive swelling and projectile vomiting, my eyes went bloodshot as well, looked like a vampire. You do get mosquitoes but the trick at nighttime is not not turn on the lights till you have closed everything up. This area used to be bad when it was all marshland but that was back when the Vikings ruled this neck of the woods. You can find opium poppies everywhere round this area as they were used to help stave of the malaria know as the fen ague. There are loads of designated mooring spots all over the place and also you can wild moor as long as the landowner dose not mind. I pay a river license it's a little like a car registration, it takes ages to go anywhere by river what would be a half hour journey by car can take 7 to 8 hours by boat. By the way did you see my last email I sent another a little wile back.
@@TrogART Wow, really interesting information, thanks for letting me know. Yes, I got your email and replied right away, about Spurgeon and Tyndale. Didn't you get it?
@@hebraist Yes had that email and replied it was yet another annoying email fro me, I know I am a pain. Love history and England is steeped in it, thousands of years of history. This area was the home of Queen Boudica who ruled the Iceni tribe that decimated the Roman settlements in this area, until they sent the full might of the Roman army to kill her. It was in later times the centre of Viking strong holds is this area. York was one of the main cities. Street names still viking. Have you ever watched the Netflix series 'The Last Kingdom' it is defiantly one of the more accurate historical drama series made, very good apart from the last few episodes that went of on a tangent very different from the books and spoiled the ending badly, but the first few series are really good exiting, bloody and quite a lot of accuracy historically, not like the series the vikings.
@@TrogART the history is amazing and I should learn more. The last email I have from you is the one that starts out..."Oh thank God you're a normal person."
@@hebraist No its an email after that titled 'A letter from the UK' first line saying "Yeah I have always loved film" I will send it again as you may find it rather interesting as I have included some images.
It is a lovely area Josh, as I said in email, Snowshill was were I lived as a child and Chipping Campden was were I went to School snow permitting in the winter. Shame I did not upload in HD or 4K. Hoped you would like the area as its like a trip into the past.
You tried to kill your sister!😮 Hope she is only slightly less crazy now. Man what an absolutely beautiful boat ride that was. Must be very special to call this your home. You are very blessed.
Only just spotted this comment Josh, when going under a bridge my sister was standing on the roof of the boat and did not notice we were going under a bridge, she hit her head on the bridge and it sent her flying, she nearly rolled of the roof of the boat there was nothing I could do it was terrifying.
And yet another missed comment, yes swans are really aggressive they quite frequently attack, they will also fight other swans to the death, will hold there adversaries head under the water til they drown.
Yeah I assume it's still used and yes low tide. Love taking a dingy out in that area as there are loads of seals on the islands further out but usually only get a two hour slot of high tide and have to rush back ASAP so you don't end up getting stranded, the villages are so cute around that neck of the woods, flint stone used in the construction of the buildings.
How embarrassing, I tend to forget about what I have posted and always hate looking back at old videos like this when I was literally testing new toys out. But thanks anyway Josh.
Yeah liked the name as well, I have always been into Viking culture, the Dutch barge was named Loki. Ethan Hunt is a short little thing, I am over 6 feet, but shrinking with age, gravity is diminishing me 😂🤣 Was 6'2". Wish I still had the original of this video as its such low res, in those days it was on dial-up, very slow and had to downsample everything to upload.
This grey one is your barge? This thing is absolutely AWESOME!!!!! Can't imagine how much fun it must be cruising around on that! You should build an 890 Jump.
It's in the process of a repaint, hence the battleship grey, much better inside. Also got this one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KmOq_PjB-dY.htmlsi=XBnm_rA4-YamGWqp took ages to build these two. A little flavour of inside: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-az6piI3nE-8.htmlsi=DL-T8oV6YkDUtCqR And this is the area: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3B6PZq4PnWQ.htmlsi=inf0b9MPjyLb7DEH The Bluewater Trog is 55 feet by 11 feet. It's twice as wide as a Narrow boat, the other one is 13 feet by 50 feet, I go past it in this video. Took me ages to build them.
👍Well done, I have been apprehensive about trying this route on our 60 x 10 foot, 30 ton widebeam, but you have proven that it is possible in a bigger boat. We have an air draft of 1.7m and guess that we would have to be very aware of water levels if we attempt the trip one day. All the best. Keith.
This this is why I recommend removing chimney@@keithsgulbransen8397: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZjKFDojb1t8.htmlsi=gepBY7HOU84GtZgC
A little disappointed when I uploaded the video it did not process the high quality version, said download was complete and processing done but was very low quality, so my apologies to those watching.
Getting there Will, roof was an absolute mess, pitting with the rust so still have to do some filling same for the gunnels, had to take it down to the metal was a killer.
Only just spotted your comment, yes 4 hours was an eternity when all the other boats waiting to go through were building up at either end. the EA guy tried to give me a telling of saying I should not of gone in, I showed him the map provided stating the lock was exactly the same as the prior lock to shut him up, he had to concede. I was just a bit embarrassed with all the people waiting to go through.
55 feet by 11 feet. It's a wide-beam why? Was dragging a dingy behind in the River Nene videos so that made it a little tricky. Took up nearly all the river in width in places had inches to spare, was fun all the same. As my boat is rather heavy it was tiring steering after a wile as boat was bottoming out a few times on the middle levels, the Nene itself was fine.
@@TrogART we were looking at getting a 70ft x 12ft but when asking on a forum group I was told it’s impossible so was surprised when I saw your video of a wide beam
@@Andrewmcnamee1985 The reason I went for 11 feet wide is so I could get almost everywhere in this area, 12 feet in width will limit how far and were you can go unfortunately, 11 feet is the best width to get as far as possible, with very few restrictions, you would not get up the middle level or get up to StIves with that width. that extra foot in width limits you, this is really why I went for 11 feet.
@@Andrewmcnamee1985 Yeah spent a long time researching were I could go and wanted to be able to travel as far as possible in this area, not being able to get to some of the prettiest parts was a clincher for me and this is why I went for 11feet wide rather than 12 feet, no being able to get through the lock at St Ives and to go above that area would of been a real bummer. Did get stuck trying to go to St Neots though, there is a video on my page, got stuck in a lock that was supposed to be the same size as the prior lock I went through. That was interesting. I know quite a few people with 12 feet wide beams and they just can't get to a lot of places I can.
