📚Bibles, 📖Bible Study Methods, and💡Bible Principles for a Better Life.
Hey, I'm Joel, a "Theologian" and coffee enthusiast. Okay, theologian is a stretch, but I do have a BA in Bible and Theology and love spending time studying the Bible.
I was raised in a Pentecostal church and have been exposed to tremendous men and women of God from whom I have gleaned much. These exposures combined with my college and continued studies have taught me about spiritual formation, prayer, preaching, teaching, and so much more. I'm here working to have the best relationship with God, my wife, and my friends, and be the best Christian and person in the process. I want to use this channel to help you be and do the same through practical life applications.
Follow along with me on the journey called life as we explore God's purpose for our life and how to live in that purpose.
Humble lamb bible, Those are really nice! Is that the KJV one? I have had translation overload recently and finally just narrowed it down to NKJV and ESV for my two. My church uses NKJV but everyone in the denomination tends to use ESV so I wanted to keep it around for bible studies I join. Im probably going to get either a Quentel or an Omega but I'll figure that out hopefully soon.
I see the brother is rocking a Humble Lamb KJV! Great taste. I’ve just placed a preorder for a Humble Lamb Sahara Blue NKJV refresh. Been waiting for this since May 2024. Loved your video as always. These short content but consistent videos are amazing and are packed with so much value. They are super helpful. Thank you Joel. 🙏🏽
Good eye ;) That was my not so subtle teaser that a review is coming. It's a beautiful Bible for sure. Comments like these really help keep me going with making it, so thank you!
Thank you for this analogy concerning Bible reading and study! I think it makes it obvious the need for both reading and study in the Christian’s life. My favorite verse that encourages me to study is the following: “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the honor of kings is to search out a matter” - Proverbs 25:2
Besides the TCR, I highly recommend these two study Bibles: 1. The Open Bible (Thomas Nelson) 2. The Hebrew-Greek Key Word Study Bible (AMG Publishers) 3. TBS Westminster
I read a chapter from a book a daily (right now going through Hebrews) and summarize the content in my devotional book. I usually go through another chapter in some book (right now Romans) and really dive into it more, weather it is listening to a sermon/lecture/outside and write down what I learned in a bible common place book. Usually this book I am going into more in depth is a book I recently finished reading in my daily devotions and want to go through it more in depth. Trying to finish the NT this year and then go through the OT next year. We shall see! Thanks for the videos.
Thank you for sharing! This seems like a really great and intentional approach to time with the Word. Do you mind if I share this and mention you in an upcoming video? I believe it would be valuable to others as well.
Hi there, I noticed that little journal in a past video of yours and I was wondering if you could give some insight as to what you’re writing and how? I know that’s very personal, but Bible journaling has become a bit of a roadblock for me… also I got my own kjv clarion last week and you’re totally right it’s the best!
Hey Trevor! Dude the clarion is the best for sure. Glad you got one 🙏 As for my pocket journal I want to talk more about it in future videos. It’s essentially a catch all. In prayer especially my mind can tend to get flooded with distractions, so I use this to get them out and move on. I also like documenting any dreams I’ve had that I feel are significant, and when reading the word and thoughts or key verses go here. That’s a general overview, but I’ll for sure do a video on it soon!
Thanks a lot. It’s great work, but unfortunately my dad doesn’t remember who he used to do it. Check out djd custom bibles. We’ve used him since and he does great work.
For sure, and I use study bibles with notes also, but sometimes it is nice to focus solely on the scriptures. I need to look into this companion bible - I’ve had a few mention it.
@@jchart4 Yes, I very strongly recommend the Companion Bible. Granted Bullinger was wrong on some things, but if you get it, you will definitely benefit from it.
Hi there, brother in Christ! Thanks to you I’m hooked on the idea of the clarion(I’m currently using the pitt minion as my daily driver and it’s great for those that are curious), and I’m nearly sold on it but I can’t find anyone talking about underlining and highlighting. What pens do you use and do they bleed? I use the microns with either a 01 or 05 nib just depending on what’s nearest to me and depending on the pressure I apply there’s a little bleed through in the Pitt, but nothing terrible. How is that for the clarion? God bless you, brother, and thank you for sharing your experiences!
Hey, I had a pitt too and loved the size, but the font size was a bit small for me. You know I actually haven’t used any pens in my clarion, but I have a Cambridge wide margin with macrons too and they works great. Should work the same on the clarion.
@@jchart4 thank you so much for the quick response! Yeah I just didn’t know if it had thinner paper or not haha I can’t find the gsm for either. I agree though I love the size of the Pitt it’s just the font size at 5am is a toughie lol
ANYTHING supernatural or spiritual that is taken from the bible is hearsay, feelings, beliefs, hopes, and tales of imaginations, and not proven with evidence. The bible is a book mostly written by men who never even met the people they wrote about (many years after). It is also heavily edited and censored by a church that had a power and politics agenda, eliminating around 14 books (the Apocrypha). In addition, there isn't just one Christian bible - there are at least three with different numbers of chapters. There exists no provable, fact-based evidence to support any of the supernatural (spiritual) events in it. Thus, it is pure human belief - a human emotion and dependent on as many human thoughts as there are humans. To believe without factual evidence is like saying a court case should be determined by only hearsay or a feeling. It's hard to think God wouldn't hold humans to a standard that they hold themselves.
Have you heard of archeology? There are literally hundreds of finding that in fact do prove much of the Bible as fact. Do some real research if you want to make a real argument. Thank you for watching. This is all I will say in responce to you. You don't have to believe, but this is the wrong place to bring negative comments.
@@jchart4 "Have you heard of archeology?" You may want to be more accurate yourself. The very first sentence on my comments refers to "ANYTHING supernatural or spiritual that is taken from the bible" -- Not archeological, locations, people, secular writings, or events. Certainly those can and have been corroborated. (although most believers are more interested in the magic) So my comment stands -- there is no fact-based evidence where the supernatural is concerned. As for "negative comments" -- anytime someone presents an untruth, that's the perfect place to offer another point of view.
The fact that many men, as you mentioned, wrote the Bible over hundreds of years in different places and in different languages and it all works harmoniously and without contradiction is a supernatural miracle itself. There is no debate in that. again, thanks for stopping by.
@@jchart4 "without contradiction" Here are some more "without contradictions" And how do you feel about God who is a mass murderer? (I'm referring to the nearly entire population of the earth (est. 4 billion) by Noah's flood - as well as killing the populations of Sodom & Gomorrah, The firstborn Egyptians, the massacre of women and children at Jericho and the Egyptian chariot army). And here are a few other things that disprove the bible -- Scientists have found evidence Sodom and Gomorra were destroyed by an earthquake or flood. There is no such species as a talking snake. Science has long ago shown that a tiny DNA pool results in massive genetic deformations (specifically Adam & Eve's grandchildren). Evidence shows that Jericho was destroyed by an earthquake, not by trumpets. The ten plagues were accounted for by a volcano. Geologists have discovered strata that prove ancient floods were not worldwide but many of them localized in different areas. The miracles attributed to Jesus can be duplicated by magicians on You Tube (search magicians flying, and levitation, walking on water, and turning water into wine). There is no evidence to prove dragons ever existed (Revelation). Two times (Gen 2 & 3) God threatens Adam that if Adam & Eve eat the fruit they will die. They didn't die. God lied. Whales, in general, are not capable of swallowing a human being. Blue whales and other baleen whales like it have a small esophagus that span only a few centimeters. A sperm whale could swallow you whole, but you'd pretty soon get digested in its four-chambered stomach, or suffocate from the lack of oxygen The three Wise Men were attracted to Jesus' birth by a magical star. They travelled far and brought valuable gifts. Then, for the rest of Jesus' life, they disappeared, During thirty years they apparently never stopped by to see how the new historical king was doing.
ONE question for you have you heard or seen the companion study Bible by Ew BILLINGER ? If you have what Is the difference between the two !? Written about SAME Time as. Your Bible late 1890 to around 19 05. Does your Bible explain the KATABOUE foundation of the world what really happened in the garden with Satan ( not no snake or serpent). WHY did God destroy the first earth and heaven age create this second Earth AND heaven age ! Describe who when what that the anti-christ comes is he the first Christ or the second Christ and at what trump seal vile is it 666 or 777 who is sentence to death by name Ezekiel CHAPTER 28 V 18 & 19. 2d thesalions chapter 2 V 1-6 give you a hint. Is Jesus Christ birthday on December 25th or a different day! Looking forward to your answers from your Bible!
Good that's all I ask I'm sure that you'r Bible is similar the companion Bible by Dr BILLINGER can give more information. Check out those 198 APENDEX interesting facts that escape people knowledge
@@jchart4 when you say it goes hand-in-hand. You're speaking about the holy Spirit and the Bible. Know the Bible and the holy Spirit do not go hand in hand. That is a demonic teaching. Other people say if the holy spirit says something if it's not in the Bible then it's not the holy Spirit. That is a demonic teaching. The holy spirit will tell you things that are not in the Bible. The Bible has thousands of lives of contradictions. It's all Mumble jumbled words added or taken out it's not complete.. in the New covenant God inspired the holy Spirit. God poured out the holy Spirit. God did not inspire a Bible and he did not pour out the Bible on the day of Pentecost. But you really think that God poured out the Bible in the day of Pentecost. God never poured out a Bible on the day of Pentecost. Satan gave us the Bible. Through his first beast Constantine the sun god worshiper and a killer. He compiled it. The second beast authorized the Bible. King James Queen James. 666 is a number of a man. King James was a killer was a bisexual. Both Constantine and King James never repented. Jesus doesn't kill with the sword he would never use them. Satan gave us the Bible. When you put him in the Canon scrolls can you change the letters and the words enter it into a law book or the old covenant. To put you under the law. Satan wants people under the old covenant through the Bible. God and Jesus do not honor the old covenant. So they're headed to the bottomless pit.
@@jchart4 the Bible is not inspired by the holy Spirit. There's thousands of lies and contradictions in the Bible. There's one lie in the Bible. It says Mark Matthew Luke and John is New testament. It's in the New testament area next to the book of Acts. Matthew Mark Luke and John his old covenant Jesus was fulfilling the law. Jesus is the testator he was still the test at Mount Calhoun. When he shed his blood the New testament started. So now there's a lie in your Bible and the Bible has a contradiction in it. So the holy spirit is not inspire the Bible. The holy Spirit doesn't lie. You can read the Bible for history and that's okay. It's not good for faith. There is some truth in the Bible yes there is. But not all of it is true. What percentage of Truth and lies I do not know. So you have to go by the holy Spirit not by a Bible book. The apostles win by the holy Spirit
I'm just going to smile and wave at this comment, because I don't want to argue with you. I also agree the New Testament doesn't start until Acts 2. But to say the Bible is a lie because of how it's organized is foolish. The gospels are the life of the testator who brings in the New Testament Covenant. The Bible was inspired by the Holy Spirit, it is true, and we 100% need it. Anything the Spirit speaks to us will align with the Bible.
@@jchart4 what you wrote there is so demonic. It's not even funny. God poured out his holy spirit on the day of Pentecost. Did you give us the Bible. The New testament started when Jesus made the sacrifice on the cross and you shedd his blood. That's when they testing was starting. Then the scroll of the acts came along. Jesus had to make the sacrifice on the cross before the New testament started and shed his blood
I love mine. I came back home to God a couple of years ago after backsliding for years. My KJV Thompson Chain Reference was instrumental in helping me to relearn things and being able to find stuff. Now I have a NKJV one to go with my mini NKJV everyday Bible.
My mom asked me when I was 20 or 21 for a Christmas gift idea for me. I quickly responded, “A Thompson Chain bible”! We had never gone to church my whole life so she was pretty shocked by my request…I had just been saved and the church I attended used the TCB for studying! That was about 1976. Well, my mom managed to find the Christian Bookstore in our town, my new recent hangout, and asked the clerk about a TCB. She bought me one and paid a whopping $25 for it. That was a lot of money for my family…..and a gift I never would have afforded alone. I still use my TCB…..Fortunately, I bought a heavy cover for it so it remains in pretty good shape. The pages a worn and marked up, but I still love this bible.
@@jchart4 You are so right. The Lord used my unsaved parents to bless me, and cause me to be able to witness to them. His Word does not return void, so by faith, I am believing I will see my parents again someday in the Kingdom.
Came here from your Bible reading vs bible study video to hear more about the Knockout Plan! Great podcast! My KJV Wide Margin and ESV Pitt Minion both arrive today and I cannot wait to jump in. My only question is: would you recommend this plan for a beginner? I’ve seen a lot of suggestions about starting in the gospels (specifically John) and going from there. However, this is a different approach to the KO method mentioned here. Thanks again for sharing!
Hi, thanks so much for watching. Those are both great Bible choices. Excited for you. I do think it’s good for a beginner because you start off with the smallest books and work your way up, but you also can’t go wrong starting in John. I think the solution may be to start on the knockout method, and simultaneously at your own pace read and study somewhere else like John or another book that stands out to you while reading (my usual approach). Last thing I’d recommend is writing any questions that come up while doing whichever reading plan, to then have a list to take back to study later. Hope this helps. God bless
Never connected Lot’s journey into Sodom & Gomorrah with Psalm 1 until listening to this today. (Lot pitched his tent toward Sodom, Lot lived in Sodom, Lot sat in the gate of Sodom) Thank you for sharing!
Happy Sunday. I hope everyone is having a blessed day. I hope this video blesses you, and if you have a friend that you know this will help too, please share it with them. Let's hear something everyone is thankful for today! Comment below.
I'm thankful for this platform and the ability to do something I love and get out to people worldwide. With that, I'm also thankful to everyone who watches, shares, and subscribes!
