My favorite part of Ashita No Joe is that it isn't the story of The Champion. It's the story of The unranked fighter. The #100-#2 guys. It's the story of the unsung many who never achieve anything in the sport, but still fight like it was their last day.
That’s honestly really cool that they have those statues set up. Makes me want to go to Japan just to see them now! I haven’t watched the anime, but this is a great video of giving you the background to the anime. Thank you for making this.
Just finished watching AnJ 2 months ago. No other piece of media has really impacted as much as this show alone. Joe as a character is far from perfect, he isn't a conventional "idol" nor a "hero". Joe in the beginning of the series is a rowdy delinquent. He's untrustworthy, conventionally stupid, and extremely violent on some occasions. But as the series goes on, as misfortune after misfortune strikes Joe, he grows. He develops a real sense of morale, you end up really respecting him. His actions end up motivating you. Seeing Joe start from nothing, go to hell, and having a satisfying ending for his own character is beautiful
One of my fav animanga - bakuman , a manga about manga also references ashita no jow , where the main character whos an manga artist has his fav manga in Ashita no Joe along with his dad... looking forward to watch it since i already loved the reboot series - megalobox which is inspired from this show itself with main character with same name - joe
Happy 100k views on this Ashita no Joe project! Thank you for everyone that spent their time with this long time passion project of mine! It's been a while but I assure you that I'm in the process of delivering more quality content for you guys so stay tuned for my next video coming soon! As for some concerns I've seen from the comments, let me address them quickly here: "Music is too loud" I've taken note of this and will be more careful with the audio mixing for future videos moving forward. For now, I've hired a CC editor to encode english subtitles in this video for you guys so you could understand what I was saying in some parts of the video "What is the music playing at X part" I've told my CC editor to include as much of the titles of the OSTs used in the subs, but just to be safe, let me add the titles in this comment as well! -AnJ OP 2 -Many Rivers to Cross by Jimmy Cliff -Rikishi's Theme -REMEMBER JOE Other than that, thank you for so many kind comments and support in the comment section below! I will definitely choose a handful of comments that are my most favorites to the next video. Thank you so much and let's all strive for a better tomorrow!
The Americans have Balboa, the Japanese have Joe of Tomorrow. Strange how separated worlds can have similar heartfelt, timeless and yet never ceases to be inspiring stories.
