👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Eric!!!! The level of patience and attention to detail he puts into these projects is a blessing and if I was happy for you before Nat, I’m even more happy for you now! So excited to see everything unfold, love this for you guys!!!! 🥹❤️
So sorry this happened! One thing I've learned in my years of doing real estate investing and remodeling is that any contractor that is readily available to begin work immediately is available for a REASON. Good contractors are usually booked out well in advance. It's also a good idea to talk to references of past clients. Hope the home improvement projects go smoother from here on out!
The stairs and paneling look amazing wow ! This is exactly what I want to do with my house. I’m curious how much the hardwood on the stairs costed including install
Everything looks so fresh and beautiful so far!! Sometimes you just have to do things on your own. Love the Hallway Light fixtures, curtains, and rods!! Great choices!! Where is your curtain rods and curtains from? Sorry I don't see it linked
UGH this pissed me off so much for you both!! So sorry this happened to you and what you went through. A final walk through before paying the contractor the final payment is very important!! Happened to my husband and I when we did our backyard patio, horrible finish and wasnt complete smh..so when we hired another contractor for our kitchen and bathrooms, we made sure we were very detailed about what we wanted and had a final walk through before they left which gave us a piece of mind. Also, this is why my husband likes to do everything on his own for this very reason. The only disadvantage of this is it takes him months, years to finish since he learns as he goes. SHOUT OUT to Eric for his work!!! The trims look great!!
You’re a better woman than me because I would have given the name of the company. At least to save someone else from hiring them!! This is a great lesson to always get EVERYTHING in writing and don’t always go with the cheapest. The cheap always ends up costing more in the long run when it needs to be redone. I think all home owners have gone through this so don’t beat yourself up over it. Just take it as a lesson learned!
Eric is such a patient and handy man, he did an AMAZING job on all the molding! Also as a homeowner myself I understand your stress in regards to horrible contractors that are basically unethical and take on jobs they know in the end will be more than they can/want to handle. As stressful as I know that situation was, you guys are doing such a great job pushing forward making your house a home! In the end it’ll all be worth it!
I live upstate as well and love it as well. It's nice to go to the city and tgen come home to the peace and quiet of the country. It's the best of both worlds.
Girl, I feel your pain. I paid my landscaper thousands only to have my new sod and palm trees basically die within a year. I had to pay to have everything redone. I was sick. With my new house I am so into what other people are doing with their homes, so I'm loving your homeownership series. You guys lucked out that the other house fell through, because I really love this one now. When you first showed a video right after you bought it I was a little worried because it looked dark and dated. But you guys are transforming it. It's gorgeous what you've done so far. Eric is a treasure. My goodness is there anything he can't do?
Oh wow painting seems simple but after watching all these videos it’s seem a big challenge. Keep pushing everything is looking great and will be worth it in the end ❤️
Been watching you for A while single life then engagement then marriage awwww I see you upload few videos haven't had time to see them I work at A wedding venue been busy but finally excited to see your vlogs ...one question will you paint the garage trims black ? Bendiciones ❤❤
Got angry with you watching this. Sorry this happened to you. I’m sure once it’s all done, it’ll feel so good to know you worked so hard on it! Best wishes moving forward! ✨
Thank you for sharing your story, I am a contractor myself and when I meet with my clients to discuss their renovations projects , for me transparency is very important on the scope of work and letting the client know if you’re able to tackle their renovation request. If I cannot, I would let them know upfront that this is not possible due to the amount of work and size of the project. Also when requesting for payment always pay a contractor in thirds and as you mentioned in your video is very important to have an invoice. The moment that the things started to go left for you and your husband. The contractor should’ve been fired from your video and you showing your pictures. Your request didn’t seem over the top. It was basic priming and painting, sanding and completing the simple task that you paid for. Again thank you for sharing. Al Santiago of Quad Handyman and Painting Services.
Your love has really helped your partner tap into so many parts of himself that he probably has been wanting to for a while! Its so beautiful to see what folks have in common! You're both so talented and creative!
