It is truly disheartening to witness the state of our world, where one must resort to seeking intervention from the Supreme Court in order to exercise their right to pray on a field. The extent to which this has escalated is simply unfathomable. However, it is crucial that we all reflect upon our actions and repent, as God is observant of our deeds. Just as He supported Coach Kennedy through his trials, He will ultimately hold accountable those who disregard His teachings. Let us not forget the Democratic National Convention of 2008, where God was deliberately excluded from their platform. Such blasphemy will not go unpunished, for it is the only sin that cannot be forgiven. Additionally, we must not overlook the disregard shown by the Olympic Committee and those "drag queens" who trivialize the sanctity of the Lord's Supper. Although it may seem amusing to them now, they will come to realize the gravity of their actions in the near future, as I fervently believe and hope. As for myself, I am prepared for what lies ahead. What about you, dear readers? I implore you to embrace Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, inviting Him into your life to guide you. Rest assured, the overwhelming sense of fulfillment you will experience is unparalleled once you make this life-changing decision.John 3:16

Coach Holtz, I wanted to extend my heartfelt congratulations on receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom from one of the greatest Presidents in history, who is also our future President! I would also like to express my gratitude for what you have done for the Gamecocks Program. It disappoints me that the Gamecocks Nation has not given you the proper recognition you deserve, as I sometimes feel they fail to comprehend the immense impact you have had on the program. First and foremost, let me share that I have attended every game since my late father took me in 1982, when I was just 9 years old. Throughout those years, we experienced only two winning seasons, in 1984 and 1987. In 1984, we had a chance at the National Championship, but we unfortunately suffered a shocking upset to Navy when we were ranked 2nd in the country. That particular week, the top-ranked team was defeated. Despite being an independent program, we managed to defeat notable teams like Notre Dame, Georgia, Clemson, FSU, Pitt, and an exceptional NC State team. We would have faced BYU in a matchup between the only two undefeated teams, but we faltered against Navy at Navy, losing by 17 points. I vividly remember watching that game at Kroger while my mother was grocery shopping. As an 11-year-old, I expected us to easily defeat Navy, but I started to panic when our star quarterback Mike Hold was absent from the game. It turned out that he was injured, so we played Allen Mitchell, who ran our option game alongside two exceptional running backs named Haygood and Dendy. Hold eventually entered the game and led a comeback, showcasing his abilities. However, it was too late as they had already put us in a difficult situation. I believe their thought process was to rest him for the Clemson game. So, despite the unfortunate outcome that year, we also had a remarkable 1987 season. Our freshman quarterback Todd Ellis became a sophomore, and we had standout wide receivers like Sterling Sharpe and Robert Brooks, both of whom went on to play for the Packers in the NFL. Unfortunately, Joe Morrison, our head coach, passed away, and with him, the program's success dwindled. That is, until 1994, the year of our first-ever bowl win, the Carquest Bowl. I can proudly say that I played a small role in that victory. A critical pass was caught by Calvin Owens, a close friend of mine from North Augusta High School. I accompanied him on all his recruiting trips, and despite his initial inclination to go to Georgia, I managed to convince him to choose the Gamecocks. I apologize often for convincing him of that choice. Haha, I joke, but he did make the biggest catch of the game, resulting in significant yardage gain. Following that victory, which coincided with Brad Scott's first year as head coach, you took over the worst team in college football! Your first season may have ended winless, but the next year, you SHOCKED THE WORLD by leading us to back-to-back New Year's Day Bowls, defeating Ohio State in both of them. I can proudly say that I traveled to all the away games and, of course, attended all the home games during those two years. It was a perk of having suffered a femur fracture on the job, as workers' compensation allowed me the opportunity to cheer you on. If you had not come to South Carolina, Coach, I genuinely believe that Coach Spurrier would not have joined us. I think you played a crucial role in helping him realize that he could achieve success at our program. You proved it! Both you and Coach Spurrier, like true competitors, found it difficult to retire from the game. I've read your book and you admit that you were not as involved as you should have been after those consecutive victories. This lack of involvement, combined with rumors that you were considering retiring, led to lost recruits. Nevertheless, you are a legend, a true Gamecocks legend, and the majority of Gamecock Nation recognizes that. Unfortunately, there are some individuals, like those who criticized Coach Spurrier for leaving mid-season, who fail to see the bigger picture. Coach Spurrier wanted to give his assistant head coaches a chance at the job, and he did what he always said he would do - he fired himself when he felt he could no longer coach. Personally, I believe he should have stayed. He should have silenced the critics and declared, "I am staying here until my mid-70s!" That would have given us seven more incredible seasons, during which he would have continued recruiting excellently, just as he did during those glorious back-to-back-to-back-to-back seasons when we won the SEC East and secured three 11-2 seasons, all concluding with major bowl wins over Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Michigan. We were even ranked as high as 4th at the end of one of those seasons, and I have absolutely no doubt that if Marcus Lattimore hadn't been injured in two of those seasons, we would have won a national title! The two games we lost while Lattimore was out showed just how crucial he was in making us competitive in every match. It's truly a shame that he missed out on at least one Heisman Trophy. Even though he missed half of two seasons due to injury, he managed to rewrite the record books. Okay, I apologize for the long comment. I hope you managed to read it! Haha.

(Trans person here) - I have SOME mixed feelings about the whole situation and Riley Gaines. While I am uncomfortable with where Gaines' 'campaign' has gone, I think that the catalysts for this whole episode were lack of communication, a substantial lack of consideration for the complexities of a situation like this, and a marked lack of sensitivity on the part of the university AND (especially) Lia Thomas. I don't know why everyone (pointing a particular finger directly at SOME trans 'activists) thought that issuing an edict that Thomas MUST be welcomed to, and accommodated by, the team, could possibly go off without a hitch. Please don't forget one minute think that I "went native" after my own transition over 30 years ago but frankly, I am not as interested in the feeling of a few loud trans people as I am about the sovereign rights of half of the population of the planet. I have questioned, since the very first new item about her, WHY Lia Thomas was not held responsible to respect the environment that she was about to enter. I have been hearing from trans women FOR YEARS of what 'makes them feel like a woman'. That is a very delicate, tricky, and complex discussion, but one thing that, in my (pretty experienced) humble opinion it is NOT is allowing an intact male bodied human being tower over a bunch of naked women. In my day, and I don't know how we lost sight of this, the goal of transition was to settle into your preferred gender, pick up where you left off if possible, and seamlessly integrate back into your environment; all with as little disruption as humanly possible. And I say some of this because I have spoken in favor of COMMON SENSE to a number of school boards and legislators in my region about creating welcoming accomodations for young transitioners as well as instilling a sense of respect and responsibility to those young people towards their new environment. Sadly, this applies far more to trans women than it does for trans men; of any age. The rules are just different and it is culture that created it, so if you don't acknowledge that going in, everything else will seem that much more difficult. MALES are not socialized for the both simple and complex differences that female born individuals face. And THAT is an entirely different complex conversation. Lastly, and I say this authoritatively, anticipating the howling of denials, males and females ARE biologically and physiologically different! My doctor and I have had to face that in dealing with some of my medical situations. So.....if you are trans and think that people like Riley Gaines are haters; maybe they are pretty pissed off with good reason; then you need to take a really good look at where you are standing, assess how well (or not) you are navigating within the communities of women, and whether you understand that the definition of "women" goes way beyond breasts, makeup, the conclusion of bottom surgery, and affected mannerisms. I am no man haters; any more than I think that I am a woman just because I hang out with some. The experiences that brought me to where I am are fairly atypical, all encompassing, and comprehensive. And still, decades later, the BEST thing that I can say, reflectively, is that my life finally sort of makes sense, and I am a truly authentic version of myself. And I did it without ever flashing anyone, freaking anyone out, or selling my soul.

Where you guys are concerned is that you believe that a Dei higher is only because of their skin color well that's not the case I'm just going to assume that they have the qualifications necessary and one of the biggest things is the conservative Republicans are calling everybody of color in a high-ranking job a d e I hire which is horseshit. It's like saying Kamala is a Dei higher she has more experience than Trump or JD Vance put together. And if you're saying the four years Trump was president is his experience that doesn't really work because he sucked at it

Urban makes an interesting point about his National Title teams not being his most talented teams. They were the teams that had the it factor with leadership. You saw that with Michigan this past season. Ohio St and Bama were more talented than them but Michigan had incredible player leadership that put them over the edge.

Tim Brown still calls Coach Holtz “Coach”. I’ve only been a HS football coach, but when I see players I coached 15-20 years ago, who are grown men now. Still call me “Coach” it makes me feel great, and makes me think that maybe I had a small positive impact on their lives. Those kids sure had a positive impact on mine.
