Another great detailed video, and Thanks again for this. I have the L405 and this same thing usualy happens about 70% of the time whenever i use the boot power buttons to lower the back seats, the front seats then move forward. It also happens when i move the passenger seat at times as well, but not as often, perhaps 10% of the time the light come on. To get rid of the light, i then move either one of the front seats, sometimes it needs the rear seats to be moved again, and this always clears the light 100% . On another note, i watched your videos on the side step deployment, got the replacement motors, so it's currently a work in progress. I can now see why Land Rover only want to replace the fully system, but at £3.5k, i can see why you did the motors and overhaul yourself. Topman.
Nice Vid, does the mirror need to come off to get at the trim? Also Does anyone know the part number? I was gonna change mine out for new as the fornt looks as if its starting to bow a little, Im guesing there is metal in there somewhere (all the older L320 and l322 used to rust on the insides so Im guessing there is a similar design.
Thanks for the vid. As far as the result - not great, not terrible. It did not fix the OEM mega lag. Still not sure whether to upgrade only the infotainment or if I should upgrade the whole car to a face lift model.
Thanks Ray, great video. Does your rear climate still all work as it should? Also, what about the light sensors to control the dash brightness? They are built into the two button panels either side of the old screen.
I would never change the oil with a pump a rather get dirty but i know that all old oil is out and theres no slug left in the oil sump. Because that's what the pump does it doesn't suck from the bottom of the oil sump then the slug build's up and then the pump gets blocked and the engine is gone
Hi thanks for part 2 appreciate you sharing. Can I ask where you got the unit from it would be great to get the same one to follow your videos for the install. They are all slightly different? Thanks again
Make Sure you pick the right one for your car, to be fair when I ordered this the seller messaged me and asked for a picture of my existing unit to make sure I ordered the correct one :)
Thanks that’s really helpful I’ll let you know how I get on. My car is. Range Rover Vogue SE L405 year is 2016 just doesn’t have massage seats like yours but have already fit the hvac successfully so had most of the bits out to do that!
@@RaymiesGarage Ordered and as you said they checked Id ordered the correct one and I sent a pic of my dash. Just got to wait now! Thanks again for your help much appreciated!
@@RaymiesGarage super thanks your reviews and demos are more real life I installed the air con control unit after watching your video took me about 15 minutes so thanks!
Hello, I'm getting a lot of help with the video. I live in South Korea and own L405 4.4D 448DT 2014. I have a question. The oil level sensor in my car is not very accurate. So I want to buy an oil dipstick that can be checked manually, but I was wondering if they sell it in the UK. I think Google forums make dipsticks and use them. Do you have any oil dipsticks sold as products? I'm so curious. Thank you always for the good video.
Great video as always. I’ve got hold of a secondhand set of JLR steps for my L405. I’m going to have mine powder coated, but I’ve also read the stuff you used is very hard wearing 👍
I have just had mine done at JLR under warranty as there is a technical bulletin, related to clonk on slow left/right turning. my car has covered 25k on a 17 plate and it was black oil coming out, the new oil fixed the problem.
Unfortunately, you changed it unnecessarily. There is no problem with your engine mount. The places you see like tears are mold burrs. Essentially, the rubber piece holds the aluminum from two sides. Those areas look very solid on yours too.
Great video. Thanks so much for sharing as there is hardly anything out there about fitting these. Got myself a 2nd hand OEM set that I’m about to tackle fitting.
Also about to tackle this but my kit didn’t come with the 8 bolts for the brackets to attach to the chassis. Are they M10x40 hex with washer? What about the ones that actually hold the steps on to the brackets. You mention 5mm hex. Are they 20mm or 25mm long?
Hi great video is it the same differential oil as the rear differential just ordered the oil you recommended and is it the same amount ie about a litre
Just delivered my 2017 L405 LWB. THE infotainment saying deployable steps are like not operating contact dealer. I couldn't see and steps there. I am a mechanic but not familiar with RR. is it the infotainment system pre coded and ready for step installation or anything else ? Please let me know.. Many thanks
Hi loving the videos andi am thinking of buying and doing the transmission diff etc but was jusst wondering how did you go through the gears when it was on the ramps and is it an app on how you read the engine temperature thanks dave
Can i ask question cause i have troubleshooting now about deployable stepboard that the same one with these after a few months suddenly not working what would be the problem is it the stepboard ecu or bcm code thay says central configuration, do i need to program the bcm or any kind of softwarw update how and what is the possible problem?
