Thanks. I'm coming over to visit in the Spring and will be driving when I get there. This helps. One thing I don't understand are those arrows (4:52 example).
Ah Hayes, the home of EMI Records, used to live and work there, Uxbridge, West Drayton etc. Spent my Saturday nights at the Queens Head on A40 I think near Heathrow. But that was way back in 1975. I suspect Hayes town center has become completely transformed since then. Nostalgia trips. PS used to be an American airbase in Ruislip, worked there too!
@itazvloggy nice rig! Never driven one myself. Renault Kerax and before that, it was the Leyland/DAF T45 with a crash splitter box tractor unit and... yes, the old school exhaust brake.
No, it's not - and if it were illegal to use your horn, cars wouldn't be sold with horns. Horns are, in fact, ENCOURAGED to be used when for some reason there's a reason to believe that they not be able to visually understand a danger or to warn someone of an imminent danger. They can also be reasonably used to alert someone who isn't paying attention that there's something they need to be aware of. Most often, this falls under "not moving after lights have changed". Stopping on a slip lane puts everyone in danger, so beeping is very reasonable here. What IS considered problematic, is when you use your horn out side of standard "awake" hours ... but even then, you are still expected to use your horn if it would prevent a collision.
You have taken me back to the 1950s when the Everyman cinema was the Odeon and I went as a kid to Saturday morning pictures, if the feature was a cowboy we would gallop along the pavement as though we were riding a horse. Past the pub that in later life I would visit for Saturday evening open mike singing. Then came Odeon Motors the Rover dealers and then the Northen Line bridge. There used to be a pub between the two roads off to the left, one being Mays Lane at the lights. This is where the extra horses used to hook up to pull heavy horse drawn carts up Barnet Hill, there used to be a horse trough there and at the top of the hill where the trolley buses turned round. Off Mays Lane is Barnet Lane that goes to Totteridge where I was a Boy Scout and played bugle, later lead side drum. Went to Ravenscroft School and also the Barnet Horse Fair, where the cockney slang got the rhyming with Hair from. Top of the hill you have Barnet Church where I got married and a friend of mine owned all the shops from The Kings Head to the next corner and that was a green grocers Will Mathers, his family name he had a pair of Roll Royce's that he loaned us for the wedding. You will notice a lot of pubs in Barnet High Street, we decide one Saturday to take a half pint in each. Starting at the Bridge up the hill, then the High St. to the common back along the other side and finishing at the Black Horse on Wood St. Pi--ed. I'm 79 now and all the above was from memory only, strange thing is I can't find my shoes.!!!!
Many thanks that you saw all 70 drifts. Warning sounds were at the same number😂😂😂? But joke aside, driving is a responsibility that is taken seriously. Thanks
Where did you find your licence at the bottom of a cornflake packet ? You drifted out of lane at least 70 times and even had the warning sounds going off. At least 5 times you had the overtaking traffic hugging the central reservation white line just to get past you. Not to mention the tailgating. MUPPET.
07:50 Ah, that's Camden Art Centre, I've got my bearings. This brings back happy memories of my late wife, thank you. Btw, good choice, I'm the other Radio Four listener. ;)
In the next weeks, that road, need to be shut to be repaired correctly. Was repaired in the recent past but by patches and exactly there was more damaged by big trucks. Thanks
I prefer a calm environment of work even on the streets, so I became a master of lowering the conflicts, but at certain price. In this case was giving up some materials that unknown persons wanted. Thanks
I might put a short video with the incident. But on the entire video you could notice that exactly the same car was trying to stop me earlier but I did not notice that, which was more obvious later. The thieves normally close the shutter of trailer but because I was moving faster and I did had space to move, they left everything inside except on black box with some value inside.
