Awakenings is DeNiro's greatest role, though it is a very sad film. After that , these are my favs: A Bronx Tale The Good Shepherd The Fan The Deer Hunter The Godfather Casino.
I definitely would have put the coffee shop scene with Al Pacino in Heat at or near number 1 for this list. But De Niro has so many great moments to choose from.
I’m glad they put the Irishman in there. It gets slated but De Niro’s performance is unreal. People say Pesci was great, which he is but De Niro is brilliant. He’ll get rewarded for this film in years to come.
It's been a while since I've seen Raging Bull and The Deer Hunter. But I saw Taxi Driver again a few months ago and remembered how good DeNiro's performance was in it.
i would replace the irishman scene with the scene in midnight run with his daughter - for me de niro was the weakest link in the irishman - that was joe pesci's film
I think there a few better actors than him, like philip seymour hoffman and even Di Caprio will be a better at the end of his career I think, but he’s up there for sure.
I bought a copy of Mean Streets. I watched it. Waited for the “You talkin’ ta me” scene. It wasn’t there. Partly. He said it once maybe twice. That’s it.
Yeah think you missed out some great scenes to be honest , I know there’s a lot to choose from but the cafe scene from heat, a few to choose from casino and cape fear, and the scene with di caprio in this boys life, definitely agree with your no. 10, 2 and 1
@@tommieberggren3324 do you know Jeffrey Dahmer? Probably not, but you know enough. Robert De Niro has gone out of his way to make an ass of himself in front of the entire country recently.
