Greetings, fellow sea slugs! You've come to a place where we dive beneath the surface of the sea to explore the beauty that lies below, learn about it, and relax together. However, we will definitely look above the surface too, because beauty can be found all around us. And I would be honored to be your guide. Welcome to The Mako: Experience!
Vítejte na kanálu The Mako: Experience.
@@BurkhardusX There are shark attacks in Egypt every year, so nothing surprising. I always try to read the articles to find out what exactly happened. Unfortunately, it's often an unknowing fault of the victim. People quite often don't respect that it is forbidden to feed the fish and don't realize that they attract predators, among other things. At the same time, I would never enter the Red Sea without a diving mask. I wouldn't jump off the jetty into the water on the outer reef side. And I wouldn't recommend swimming at dawn or dusk. Sharks are all around us in the sea, but we rarely notice them. We're not their natural prey and usually it's curiosity that brings them to us. When this happens, it is extremely important to stay calm in a vertical position, keep your eyes on the shark and don't splash. Unfortunately, sometimes we can pay the price for someone else's stupidity. Recently, a scared man swam past me and was chased by a school of fish led by a titan triggerfish because he had bread in his swimsuit and was feeding them. However, as he swam by, the triggerfish started attacking me. I first chased the fish away and then scolded the man very harshly.
Konečně nějaké super video, zajímavé informace, hezky sestříhané, žádné 5minutové záběry o ničem, moc se mi to líbilo. Díky. No a za 2 týdny si to tam snad prožiju taky.
Congratulations for the music choice. These kind of traveller videos used to be screwed by of awful musics.I do not want to watch a poetic coral by a disco music
Thank you very much. I totally agree with you. Bad music is one of the main reasons I don't watch many videos to the end. With this video, I was looking for music to go with each section to accentuate the atmosphere. I'm so glad for your positive feedback.
@@ahmetmurateken901 The best visibility was in the morning and evening, but even during the day the water was crystal clear. But I can only judge the area around our homestays. In most places we were for several hours, so I have no comparison. At Wayag, for example, the visibility was very poor at lunchtime.
I can highly recommend Raja Ampat. It is an absolutely incredibly beautiful place. I am going to make an English version of this video as soon as possible.
Moc děkuji! Jsem rád, že se video a komentář líbí. :-) My s Katkou zase děkujeme, že jste byli tak super parťáci. Lepší skupinu si ani nedovedu představit.❤🤍
Hey Great Video!!! I really binge-watched all of your videos and enjoyed them so much :) I have seen that you visited both the Three Corners Fayrouz and the Hilton Nubian Resort - could you recommend one more than the other? We are so indecisive between those two hotels...
You can't go wrong with either. Personally, I definitely recommend Fayrouz. Both hotels are great, but I liked Fayrouz better. Or the marine life around the hotel. The only big advantage of the Hilton was the night snorkeling. However, we ran into dugong many times at the Fayrouz.
They circled the sandy center of the bay. Look at the map at the end of the video, it was roughly where the seagrass beds are marked. 24:56 - House Reef Map | Mapa útesu
Oh I have another question. In the Hilton, they have Ocean Blue who proposes a 2 dys excursion do go swimming with dolphins in sataya. It has been the best experience of my whole life. In the Three corner Fayrouz do they also propose this excursion please ? thanks in advance for your answer
I believe they offer trips to Sataya everywhere. It's probably the most popular trip they had in all the hotels I've been to in Marsa Alam. I've only visited Sataya once and that time I arranged it through a friend who lives in Egypt. It was a horrible experience for me. Lots of boats chasing dolphins, huge numbers of tourists, pollution and many dolphins had injuries from the boat propeller. Yes, I got some beautiful shots from there, but I would never go again under those conditions. Poor dolphins. 😞 However, I have good news for you. Dolphins regularly swim into the lagoon at Fayrouz. Ask the lifeguard at the jetty when they usually show up.
@@themako Hi Martin, sorry to here it was a bad experience for you when you went to sataya. For me it has been the most amazing experience of my life because we were alone with the group of dolphins you can see on my videos. It was a 2 dayx trips we took with Blue Ocean at the Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort and when we arrived on saturday afternoon we had the chance to swim 45 min with dolphins which were staying with us, leaving and coming back to us with theirbabies etc etc It was so so amazing I don't even know if I would go back because I would be afraid not to live the same beautiful moment again. Thanks for the tips about dolphins at the Fayrouz ;-)
@@seaturtleaddicts2569 Your experience sounds a lot better than mine. But in that case, be careful what kind of trip you buy. Because the vast majority are the same as the one I took. 🙂
Hi Martin, beautiful video ! did you see my message on instagram ? I have a question about this hotel and the hilton marsa alam nubian resort. Could you tell me the differences concerning the reffs and the hotel please.
Hi, Laura, I hope you don't mind me answering here, but maybe my answer will help someone else. I often get questions about these two hotels. 🙂 The Hilton Nubian wasn't bad at all, but I like the Three Corners Fayrouz better - I've been there three times now. I just don't know how things are now at Marsa Mubarak, as they have supposedly built a new hotel there since my last visit. This may have an impact on the turtles and especially the dugong, which we used to see very often. (No boat. Just after dawn. By the way, you can see it in both Fayrouz videos - there is a reference to a specific time in the description.) There are of course a huge numbers of turtles in this bay, mostly green sea turtles, but there are also hawksbill sea turtles on the edge of the coral reefs. The hotels are otherwise quite comparable in standard, however I liked the Fayrouz resort better. There was never a problem with the food at either hotel. We were never sick, but I must admit that we followed the general rules for Egypt and avoided some particular ingredients. Fayrouz's housereef offers two types of environment - a coral wall and a lagoon with shallower corals, where visibility is worse. The grass is in Marsa Mubarak. The only drawback I see is that it is not possible to snorkel here at night. The Shams Alam hotel is also amazing, the snorkeling there is truly incredible. But it's a small hotel without all the various amenities. And that's where we were unfortunately sick. But they have lots of turtles, dugong and big stingrays. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. 🙂
Thank you very much. I have music from several composers, some of it was even composed by my friend Petr Pinos. However, I also love and like to use music by Peder B. Helland and others.
Wow what a great video. Incredibly beautiful shots. I myself was in September with my son for two dives in Abu Dabbab. The sea turtles were absolutely amazing. I'll definitely leave a subscription here and I'm looking forward to the upcoming videos. Greetings from Bavaria (southern Germany). Häign 😊👌
Sorry to respond so slowly, I just got back from Raja Ampat, I'm preparing some new videos! :-) I'm glad you and your son had a great time at Abu Dabbab, it's a really beautiful place with lots of turtles. If you do any videos, be sure to add a link, I'd love to see it. :-)
Cool scene with turtle and dugong, once a dugong made something similar with me. It was friendly but i had pain for some days in my shoulder, where it hits me hard.
That must have been quite a blow! Dugong loves to play with turtles, but I've never seen it with humans. Can I ask, out of curiosity, how tall are you? :-) Anyway, I hope the pain went away soon and it wasn't a big injury.
I only got hit by a dolphin, which was also a kick. It reminds us that they are wild animals and even if they look friendly, you should keep your distance. :-)
Thank you. 🙂 You have to try what suits you, but the basics are plain colours, wide mode, and ideally 4K resolution. I've been using the same settings since 2016.
@@TheLordScout No camera can make a perfect image, there is always a need to adjust colour, contrast, sharpness... and that's for each picture separately. :-)
Hi Mikael, hello to Denmark. :-) This is the first time I've used a GoPro Hero 10, I used to shoot with a Hero 6. You can find the equipment used in the video description. Enjoy your holiday in Marsa Alam!
Waow your video is amazing I'm planning to go there in june. Can't wait !!! You do it all only by snorkeling ? I was also wondering aren't the jellyfish (when you swam with the turtle) dangerous ? Thanks for the video 👌
Thanks! :-) Yes, we shot all this just by snorkeling. Me and my buddy are both freedivers. This species of jellyfish is not dangerous, no need to worry about being stung. I had them all over my body. On my head, under my swimming T-shirt. :-D However, they were only there for one day. Then the whole swarm was eaten by fish and sea turtles. Have a great time there!
Прекрасное видио с очень гармоничным музыкальным сопровождением! Благодарю автора за возможность вновь окунуться в счастливые воспоминания о самом красивом море))
Your filming skills are awesome! The quality is top! Going to Marsa Alam in May this year, can't decide between the 3 corners Fayrouz or the 3 corners Equinox, what would you choose?
Thanks a lot! ♥ Glad you like the video. About the hotels, it won't be easy because I haven't been to Equinox. Hilton Nubian is in Abu Dabbab bay, while Equinox has its own little bay about 2km away from Hilton. The staff at the local dive center told me that the bay at Equinox isn't worth much, but there should be a better chance of seeing a dugong there. They say there are more of them out there. However, I can wholeheartedly recommend Fayrouz. You can see in my two videos what you can encounter there. You'll find multiple environments - a shallow lagoon, high coral reefs and a seagrass beds in Marsa Mubarak. Plus, there's really very nice staff and good service. If you choose Fayrouz, you can't go wrong. No matter what you decide, be sure to let me know. :-)
One more important piece of information! It is reportedly forbidden to travel to Egypt with a drone. They'll confiscate it at the airport. So be careful. :-)
@@themako Hi, your videos are incredible! I have watched a lot of red sea videos, but yours are probably the most breathtaking, please keep filming! And special respect for the music selection :) Maybe you could help me with advice, my girlfriend and I are planning our first trip to the red sea and our main priority is snorkeling. I did some research and decided on Marsa Alam instead of the standard Sharm El Sheikh, as many people said that nature is more unspoiled here. Now I choose between two hotels - Fayrouz (because of the house reef and Marsa Mubarak) and Hilton Nubian (obviously Abu Dabbab). I'm not quite sure which one to choose, and since by happy coincidence you've been to both (I watched all the videos :)), maybe you could share an opinion on where you liked the snorkeling the best? I'm also a little worried by the fact that in the reviews about Fayrouz on google meeps several people said that "the reef to the left of the pier and the reef at the relaxation beach" are dead, the reviews were written about half a year ago. Or maybe you know some other places in Egypt with snorkeling better than near these two hotels? :) Thanks in advance for any advice!
@@danylomovchan3450 Thanks, glad you like the videos. :-) Going underwater is always incredibly relaxing for me, so I try to make the videos look exactly how I feel when I shoot them. Of the hotels mentioned, I would definitely recommend Fayrouz, where I had some really beautiful encounters with marine animals. The outer reef was beautiful the last time I was there. The problem is that on my last visit, the hotel in Marsa Mubarak Bay had not yet been completed and I can't say what effect that has on the marine life there. Overall I also liked the accommodation, architecture and service better. The Hilton Nubian also has a beautiful reef and great marine life, but it did not meet my expectations in accommodation and service. However, the food here was slightly better. Overall, I would say that whether you choose Fayrouz or Hilton Nubian, you can't go wrong. I would recommend visiting both. The reefs are very nice at both places, but I only met the dugong a few times at Fayrouz. I don't think I've been much help, but it's a really tough choice. :-)
@@Snorkellovers Well, wind is always a problem. However you can always go to a nearby Marsa Mubarak a or a small lagoon in the middle of hotel pier. Only the outer reef will be closed. The best is that you have more types of enviroment there - seagrass beds, sandy shallows and outer coral reefs. Excellent for snorkeling. I was there twice and the wind usually bothered us for one day a week.
@@Snorkellovers It depends. I usually wait to get a good price. This year however I will check out a new place and hopefully make a video review of underwater life.
@@michalukropec1499 Tady jsem v rychlosti nasel mapku, na miste urcite taky bude. media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/media/photo-s/0b/d8/36/e7/house-reef.jpg Ziji tam velci kanicove, obcas proplave dugong Kuno a taky krasne olihne.
great video, thanks. Do you know if the bay is accessible by land for those not staying at one of the hotels on the bay? For example, is there a day pass that can be purchased from the hotel or other access?
I'm not sure to be honest. There is a guard who check a room number of all persons who want to enter. But if you're a good swimmer and there are no waves you may try to swim there from Marsa Mubarak. It is not far but it may be dangerous if the weather is windy. The best option is to write an email to Fayrouz reception and ask them. 🙂
@@themako last question, with you having been there at two different times of the year, what would you estimate the odds of seeing the manatee or turtles when going there one day by either a tour or walk in ? The hotel I am looking at has nice house reefs, so a visit to this bay would just be for the manatee and turtles.
@Aaron B If you want to see a manatee you will be disappointed. They do not live in Egypt. But if you will be lucky enough you may encounter a dugong. :-) They are cousins. However, there is just a single one and you must be very lucky to see it. When I was there for the first time in summer I encountered it just once in 11 days. The second time in winter I met him four times in a week. He feeds on grass early in the morning and then he returns at approximately 4 p.m. Turtles are present almost all day long and you will see them. There is so much of them. Be sure to keep your distance at any cost. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-94icYRc7pa0.html
