Great video. Simple an to the point. I also read the Basics of Compression Fittings blog post. In it there is a table that shows that the number of turns required to seal are 1 1/4 or 2 1/4, depending on the size of the tubing. This is a bit confusing. Can you clear it up for me.
If you are using the 60-series fittings with soft metal tubing, tube sizes 1/8" - 5/16" require you to wrench tighten 1-1/4 turns, and 3/8" - 7/8" require you to wrench tighten 2-1/4 turns from hand tight. On thermoplastic tubing, 1/4" - 3/4" requires 2 full wrench turns from hand tight. If you have any additional questions, please contact us at dixonvalve.com.
@@DixonValve In the video at 1:24 it states that for the copper tubing you turn the nut 1/2 turn after finger tight. And at 2:41 it states that for nylon tubing you turn the nut 1 full turn after finger tight. What am I missing?
The crimpers themselves are not DOT approved. DOT approval would be based on the hose and fittings being used. Please contact us at dixonvalve.com or 877.963.4966 for recommendations on your specific application.
I have witnessed many times the dixon w series, Parker 6100 and Stucchi WS being used together. I have seen equipment function with no noticeable issues, is there any data for interchangeability between these manufacturers?
