As a former Firefighter. We couldn't tie it with the running end on the inside. We had to run it to the outside. When doing the " rabbit in the hole way ". Just run the running end coming out of the hole on the outside. If you run it to the inside, you get it this way. They say when the running end is on the inside. It would slip. I personally like it this way to do a quick purchase point or doing a truckers hitch.
I’ve heard this before but can’t find the bases where that came from. When I train the fire service to use the bowline, I always show them to tie the tail on the inside. That being said, you should always back the bowline up with a Yosemite or half hitches when using for life safety.
I’m right handed, I keep the working end always in my hand and form the knot in my left. I don’t know if that means I tie left handed or not. I will tie the bowline with the opposite hand and get the video uploaded.
@@knotknut I feel a bit stupid but I wanted to know which knots to use to anchor a TV antenna pole in 3 points: which knot to the pole, which knot to the roof anchoring ring to pull the cable. Thanks so much
On my channel I show a couple load/trucker hitches, they are perfect for back ties (which is what you’re doing). If there isn’t an attachment point on the antenna then you can use a 3 wrap Prusik also on my channel, one prusik for each back tie. Hope that helps
Typically used to secure the rope to the harness, so yes, please do your research of the dangers and how to avoid them, if new I would recommend finding a friend who climbs to teach you, and if you have the money maybe a instructor would be good, be safe!!
@@diegomora1294 what makes this knot important and popular is that it’s easy to tie, very recognizable ( to see that it’s tied correctly) and that is easy to untie. This knot is easy to untie compared to most knots after they have been weighted. If you find it to hard to untie, I do have a video on my channel of a slipped bowline that makes it easier to untie.
I was going to compliment you on how well you executed the presentation of the bowline. It's the one knot that has flummoxed me time and time again, nearly as challenging as tying my shoes. I also took note of the simplicity with which you made this knot's execution; the process will stick with me now. I've NEVER oriented the knot correctly on my first try - NEVER! I then read some of the comments and realized I didn't just have a profound personal breakthrough, you really did a fantastic job with your presentation, and everyone agrees. I was kind of annoyed it wasn't all about me, I didn't break through some personal challenge, it really was how well you presented it. Subscribed.
Thank you for your comments and kind words, it is always nice to hear. I may have shown how to tie the knot but it is all you when it comes to execution.
