Hello sis, are you still au pair in china? And where can i message you directly. I have some more question to ask since i found a matching host family there. I want to get information on how the process and so on. Hoping to talking to you. 🙏😊
hi,Azalia,Could you please tell me how to find a reliable agency? for example, your agency. That sounds like a reliable agency. I am a Chinese family and I want to find an Au Pair through a reliable agency not a liar agency.
Hello, it depends on the kind of experience you want. Living with a host family can be helpful to help your learn the culture and customs more naturally and give you more opportunity to learn Mandarin. It also can be less challenging in that you don't have to figure out how to pay bills or a find your own accommodation and things like that. Living alone can also be great if you prefer to be more independent and want to have more personal space. With a host family you have to work with their schedule and live by their rules. So it depends on your preference.
Hello! I have another video on my channel where I explain my process in getting started! Feel free to check it out! How I became an Au Pair in China: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RBw2aexe-64.html
Wow! Okay first of all you are INSANELY BEAUTIFUL! and the views and scenery are breathtaking, thank you for the soothing moment! Wishing you a blessed Holiday Season 💞🥰❤️ Come by and say hello one of these days, I'd love to show you our latest 😊❤️
Hey I Hope you could help me with a question :) I will start my au pair Programm 2021 hopefully at April. I just matched with a family und now I’m a little unsure how I should keep contact during the next months? Maybe you have some tips? I don’t want to annoy them but want to keep contact
Hello! Congratulations on matching with your host family! I matched with my host family in November 2017 and joined them in June 2018 so similar time frame as you. I mostly messaged with my host mom and, occasionally the boy I was an au pair for. I would send them pictures of things I thought they might be interested in like my artwork or pictures from my family vacations. I would send them little updates about my visa and plans for arrival. I also asked questions every once in a while, "what kind of clothes should I bring" or "was anything they wanted from my home country". Things like that. I think it's good to contact them regularly so you can start building a relationship with them. It's good to learn about the interests of the children so you can be prepared for when you come. I think for me I would message with them maybe two or three times a month at first and then as it got closer to me coming, about once a week. But honestly, just gauge it on what feels comfortable for you. A tip I have for you is, to find out what kind of books or toys the children are interested in and, bring a small gift based on their interests. Also, it's customary in China to bring gifts for all the family members you will be living with. Doesn't have to be anything too expensive, candies from your home country are always a good choice! I wish you all the best and feel free to reach out if you have any other questions. :)
whatsername 00 The name of the agency I worked with was called Love AuPair China. Personally I did not pay any money to my company directly. I booked my own tickets and they reimbursed me for one of my plane tickets. I would see if you can contact someone outside of the agency who worked with them before and ask what their experience was like. For example, did they have to pay a few, was the agency helpful with arranging visas, did they feel comfortable with their contract agreements. I hope this was helpful! Let me know if you have any other questions I might be able to help with!
Love this video Harmony. The editing flows well with the music and it has an overall good feeling. I think it would be a good flic for breaking up stereotypes about China. What a beautiful city!
Hello 💕 I’m taking a gap year as I’ve just graduated from high school. I’m considering spending some time as an au pair somewhere in either Europe or Asia next year if possible. I was just wondering if there was much financial expense on your behalf when applying and becoming an au pair? I’m only out of high school so I’ve no money but I may take a job before going abroad. Anyway, thanks for reading and hope you’re keeping safe! 🙏❤️
Hello! I became an Au Pair right after my high school graduation too! I had saved up some money from babysitting. It wasn't very costly for me. (700USD total) The company I worked with didn't cost me money. They also paid for my return ticket home. (They choose the cheapest flight and I didn't really have a say in which airline they choose. But I didn't mind and they did their best to make sure I was most comfortable and were flexible with my travel dates.) I also received monthly "pocket money" which was provided by my host family. It was just enough to be able to go out regularly and do a little bit of shopping. I saved some of mine so that I could go on a trip after my contract finished. Cost wise, it really depends on where you go and how you organize getting there. If an Au Pair company is asking you to pay them, that could be a sign they might be a scam. I never paid one penny to my company. They helped me arrange my arrival ticket but I paid for it directly. When it came time to purchase my return ticket they paid for it directly. If you have any other questions as you keep looking into your gap year feel free to ask! It's best reach me through Instagram! Hope this was helpful and good luck on your endeavors! :)
Hello! I personally haven't spent enough time researching if it will be safe to travel to China in 2021 considering Covid19. Although, I have spoken with my previous host family within the last month and they told me that they felt quite safe. The majority of public facilities were in the process of opening back up a few months ago. Recently schools have also transitioned from online, back to in-person classes. I hope this was helpful! :)
I just discovered your channel and I'm catching up with your videos. I'd like to know more about your mandarin learning in China. Your classes were standard mandarin or the local dialect? Did you have many difficulties learning the language? In general terms do you consider safe to go to China as an au pair? Great videos! New subscriber here!
Hey! My classes were directed at teaching standard Mandarin, however, there were some days we talk more about local dialect! It was most difficult for me to learn the tones. I'm still working on perfecting this! Overall I think learning a new language is difficult. Repetition and practicing with native speakers was very helpful for me. Generally, (and based entirely on my own experience) I think in terms of public safety China is a safe place to be an au pair. They have cameras EVERYWHERE which made it feel safer to me. There's also police on almost every street corner and many security guards. In my 6 months stay in Shenzhen, I didn't once witnessed a crime or an arrest, that I was aware of. I felt safer in China then in the US, but I can't speak for everyone. As far as Covid19 is concerned I haven't done enough research to advise if I think it is safe to travel there or not. Thanks for subscribing! I hope you enjoy my videos! :)
So cute! Funny you said, "I'm sorry, I'm eating with my full!" Instead of talking with my mouth full. Do you know what the etiquette is in Korea about eating with your mouth open is? I had to stop in the middle to get a snack. You made me want to eat with you! Your room looks great and so do you!

Hi! I actually was in China a while ago and just got around to posting some footage from my time there. The Coronavirus is still a serious and growing issue. I would definitely look into the places you are planning to visit to make sure it will be safe for you! I hope we can find a solution soon!! My heart and thoughts are with all those who are experiencing difficulties because of it.
Thanks for your response. I also pray that everything will be back to normal, and that all the people in China including you will be safe at all times. Btw I was supposed to go to Beijing but I’m worried of the situation now since all flight going in and out of China were mostly banned. But it’s better to be safe. Godbless Ham. ❤️
Talking about the way of socializing with others, I feel like Americans do a lot of superficial and useless social that only to assure youself that you are safe with the group, but you know what's behind the surface, love or hate and all these stuff you cannot sure, so you just smile all the time with good manners to avoid the uncertaincy. Chinese are different, they might look totally strangers because they didn't need to put up a smiling face or manner to strangers, but that doesn't means they don't like you or not willing to help you. Just my personal feeling...
Totally agreed. Small talks have always standard mode. When colleagues ask you " how is going?", the only correct answer is " very well" and show smile. No one really cares actually. That is actually very hard for me to adapt. What ever, this is culture difference. But we should feel lucky that we have two modes in mind and adapt the two cultures well. At least for me, I can be myself in China and add a little "act-element" in Europe.
haha true while the Germans not only don't put up smiling faces, also that means they don't like you, not just you, they don't like nobody nor would they go extra miles to help others. At least that's what I feel 2 years living in Germany, comparing to living in the US and China. I was having drinks with my German colleagues in Madrid and someone was trying to sell us flowers, and my colleague said to him, No we are Germans nobody loves nobody... lmao... so true
Obi2 American people are one of the most generous and kind hearted people. Only the US government which is controlled by some interested groups that make trouble, sometimes.
@@abdeenn3 Agree, the capital groups are sick. They lie to the people and kill, steal, and start wars all over the world. The people are nice, but not the capital groups with their politicians and media
Watching these videos, related to being an au pair, make it more real. I'll be traveling to China next year, and I'm nervous because this will be my first time traveling abroad, and it is to the other side of the globe.
Oh I understand that feeling for me it was the first time traveling abroad and the other side of the world! 😬 If have any advice to offer I’d say be open minded but stay true to yourself. It’s not always easy but it’s mostly wonderful! In the midst of all the change don’t forget to slow down and look around and just take it all in. 😊
@@ham8043 I'll take that advice for sure. The real thing when dealing with this is the culture, the distance between your family and you, and the experience itself, because you don't know the language and barely anything related to the country. However, I'm still excited to take this, and the reasons behind it are the reasons why I'm partly afraid of. Thank you so much for answering! Have a good life.
