Thank you for the information! Are you able to share the "recipe" for the hydrogen peroxide soil treatment? Curious as to what strength the hydrogen peroxide was, and ratio it was diluted. Thank you!

I recently rooted a couple 12 inch long strands of cuttings as an experiment. I have them in soil and had to use 2 supports to keep the strands in place while they rooted because of the weight of the strands. A regular potting mix with perlite added. I never watered them. I only sprayed them with water maybe 3 times a day when I walked past them. And they were in my dining room window sill. Still are.

Yes! It might just take a bit longer to root but should be fine 😎

Aww man no wonder why mine was getting yellow specifically at the bottom! I’ve been letting it dry out like a pothos but now I know it’s okay to keep it moist most of the time then!

I water my plants in pon with fertlizer, regardless if pon has a slow-release fertilizer in itself.. doesn't really matter. I find the plant still grows healthily.

Hello! Beautiful amazing linearis!! Wow. Can you please tell me if yours has ever had fungus gnats? It doesn't have root rot, I just barely repotted it about three weeks ago, I think that is how it became infected. But I am at wits end getting rid of the fungus gnats. Thanks for any suggestions and help.
@SirPlantsaLot
@SirPlantsaLot 29 дней назад
Hi! It probably has had fungus gnats at some point as most of my plants do 🤣 A lot of the times fungus gnats come with the soil so it's good to use a good-quality mix (don't recommend pretty much any soil you could find at a box store). The best way to get rid of them for me was using beneficial nematodes, they're basically little organisms that eat the fungus gnats before they hatch. Another option is diatomaceous earth. To control the existing adult population, get yellow sticky traps or Katchy insect trap. Give those things a Google and see what would work best for you. Hope that helps! 😊

You don’t have to remove them but you’ll probably have to repot the plant into a bigger pot more often 😊 hope that helps

Great video, very imformative. Just one question, at around the 10:30 mark you pulled the nursery pot out of decrotative pot with water in, will this not cause root rot as its sat in water? Thanks in advance.
@SirPlantsaLot
@SirPlantsaLot 3 месяца назад
Hey AJ, plants in pon work a little differently than plants in soil. If this plant was to sit in water in soil, yes, it would probably sooner or later develop root rot. However that doesn't happen with plants in pon. The only way your plants can get root rot in pon is if you let the roots dry out too much and then water it (this is called 'dry rot'). So I'd just watch out for that and you should be fine :)

Its a progression, starts with one or two plants, then you find out you can propagate them, and the rabbit hole opens and you fall in 😁 then every plant gets propagated, which is fascinating, then all of a sudden you have 302 houseplants !! 😁😁😂😂

Would u always propose doing a wetstick in a container for better humidity or does it really not matter that much?
@SirPlantsaLot
@SirPlantsaLot 3 месяца назад
Hi! I think it definitely makes a difference. Wetsticks that aren't in an enclosed container either take much longer to root/grow or they don't grow at all. Hope that helps! ☺
