Hi, I'm Rattlesnake Aviation! I made this channel because I have an immense love for planes and flight simulators. At the moment, my flight simulator of choice is Microsoft Flight Simulator. I will post all kinds of flight simulator videos, from full flights to landing challenges in heavy crosswinds (and everything in between).
I had my first experience in a flight simulator at the age of seven in a professional 737 flight simulator setup. At that moment, I decided I wanted to become a pilot. At the current point in time, I aspire to be a 777 or 787 pilot; unless aviation has moved on by then. Until then I have to settle for home flight simulator rigs.
If you asked me for my goals for this channel I would have to say that all I really want is to make quality content that hopefully, you can enjoy. Then again, it would be amazing to get 500 subscribers. :)
Superb video....Will copy it tonight many thanks.....Quick question re A320 and bATC.. I use British Arways VB as call sign but Beyond comes out with "Bannana something " any ideas ?
If you want the callsign "Speedbird Victor Bravo" (Speedbird being the British Airways callsign), you'd have to make sure you enter "BAW" into the airline section then "VB" into the flight number section in SimBrief when you're making your flight plan. If British Airways VB is a completely separate airline I'm not aware of, then you could try toggling the switch in Beyond ATC's settings saying preferer virtual airlines. If none of that works, then you can report it as an issue in the Beyond ATC discord server and the developers or someone else in the community may know a fix or it could be fixed in a future update.
As far as I'm aware it can only tell you to follow your flight plan or give you radar vectors, I'm not sure if it's capable of visual approaches. I think the main reason it would give you a vectored approach over your flight plan is when it's scenery data is lacking and it can't fully link together all the waypoint in your flight plan.
Can you do a tutorial on vectors approach? I’m confused when it gives me the final heading but I’m still not lined up. Should I report established and just go direct to the waypoint to capture the ILS or?
I'll make that for my next video. Whenever I've been given vectors is usually been really good at getting me established on final so they'll give me an intercept for the ILS and then I can just do a normal ILS approach. If you get an intercept but don't get perfectly lined up they usually tell you that you're cleared for the ILS once established or something similar. If you're not even given an intercept, I think that would be a bug so you should just go straight to a waypoint and continue the approach as normal having reported you're established once you get to the waypoint.
@@RattlesnakeAviation thanks for the reply, I usually get told “fly heading xxx maintain 3000 until established on localizer” and no more instructions. I’ll definitely be more attentive to the phraseology from now on. An example that comes to mind was when it vectored me into rw22L at EKCH where the final approach corse is 217, but it made me fly I’d say good 10-15 degrees askew? I guess then my question also becomes what exactly does established mean? Is it when the diamonds are perfectly aligned or can it be before as well. Thanks for the help, your video is very informative!
I'm not a real pilot but as I understand it, it's when you turn to face the runway and you're fully lined up with the localiser but I don't think you have to be at the perfect altitude with the glideslope captured. If you did, I don't think it would really matters to much in Beyond ATC but obviously do more research if you ever take any of this into the real world.
If you mean the file that you get from the PMDG website or email, yes. If you mean the file that that installer then prompts you to install, it's best to leave that at the directory it defaults to or if that's wrong direct it to your community folder.
You can keep the .zip file in your downloads folder. Once you extract it and open the .exe file inside it it should automatically download all the files you need into the correct locations.
I know and I'm sorry, I only realised when I was editing it. I even reduced the volume of the ATC while I was editing so it wasn't so bad. I've changed my audio settings so it'll be better next time.
As far as I'm aware it'll do whatever approach it deems is more appropriate but I don't think you can request a different one. I might be wrong though, sorry I can't be more help. If you have it already purchased you can get to that phase of flight and look in the window to see if there's an option for it and if not, you can ask on the discord server where there's bound to be someone that knows.
Sorry for the double upload, the first version of this video released with a minor error in the editing which was fixed for this version. I hope you enjoy and let me know if you need help with anything!
When I go to the Options / Audio it says in red "No Microphones Detected" -- I am using a USB Corsair Gaming Headset wich is selected as my Default Sound Device in Windows - would appreciate any Comment/advice to solve this problem
I'm not really sure what could be going on there. It's always worth trying to fully restart your PC (not just shut down then turn back on). If that doesn't work, you could try repairing the files by running the installer again or fully uninstall then reinstall. If it still doesn't work you'd probably have to go to one of the support pages on the Beyond ATC discord where you can submit it as a bug for fixing in a future update and ask the whole community if they've experience anything similar and have a fix.
@@RattlesnakeAviation I have managed to solve this frustrating problem - for some reasom windows 11 had Disabled the microphone on my headset but left the earphone reception on - not yhe remotest idea why - thank you for your efforts to help - much appreciated
Hi i have a problem. So i downloaded, it and installed and everything went smoothly untill i entered operation center. I dont see it neither in the operation center nor in the simulator. What is interesting is when i entered the installing program it showed my to repair, modify or remove meaning it is instaled. do you know what im supposed to do?
I'd try repairing it then if that doesn't work you might have to uninstall and reinstall it making very sure that its installed to the right path. It might also be worth looking in your community folder to make sure it installed it there and not somewhere random. I can't remember exactly what the folder's called and it varies based on what plane you got but it should have PMDG somewhere in it.
@@totruav0015 what resolution do you play on? a gtx 1660 super can handle msfs on 1080p but not high settings due to low 6 gb vram you should upgrade your card to something more modern if you would like to get good preformance for a budget i recommend buying a pc with a 4060 8gb vram but if you would like to spend more for better preformance get a 4070 with 12 gb vram i would recommend buying a new pc instead of trying to upgrade considering that your cpu and motherboard would also need to be replaced to prevent bottlenecking also upgrading to 32 gb faster ram greatly reduced stuttering for me hope this helps
@@Twoouz thank you so much for taking ur time! My res. Is 1920X1080 on a 75hz monitor 💀 Im planning to get a new pc actually. Mine is MSI mag infinite 10si 026EU Got it like 3yrs ago. It can only give instructions to aircraft it injects itself which is a feature coming soon. It won't interact with aircraft injected by default or FSLTL.
Calm down bro he tried his best, I understand that it may not be the best but at least it’s up to his expectation. Also flying at 9fps is just crazily hard to deal with Ngl
I lived streamed with BeyondATC as well and I loved it and some of my viewers are now getting it from what they told me. I am the same way... VATSIM terrifies me and this is a good way to get better. Also i subbed nice channel
It is not prefect at all, it has bugs. It is also incomplete and lacks many useful features. If you think this is good try Say intentions, it is more complete product.
Fair enough but Say Intentions has been out longer and had more time to develop and improve. I'm sure that once Beyond ATC has had the same time to mature it'll be just as good.
@@vjc3818 It is expensive, it does have some slow responses sometimes, but it feels more authentic, real to life. BATC is great, don't get me wrong, but atm feels to artificial, it is not integrated with MSFS yet (you have to use simbrief) and has still quite a few bugs.
@@vjc3818 Yes it is more expensive, and the wait times might be sometimes longer ... but it feels more true to real life, BATC is more artificial. I probably get it anyways because it is only $30.
@@RattlesnakeAviation kept telling me that it couldn't understand my request and after a while it lost connection and I had to restart. That happened x2. Frequencies are wrong too. I am sure there will be improvements.
There are a handful of GA aircraft in SimBrief such as the C172, King Air 200 and Cessna 310 along with a few more. If the plane you want to fly isn't in there, you can always put any aircraft with similar performance characteristic you'd just have to note the fuel consumption would be different. Furthermore, BATC is working on releasing VFR functionality as soon as they can, it's currently 5th on the roadmap of features they're working on.
@@willynanita Yes, sorry my mistake. You'll should mute the default ATC by muting "Voices" in the audio tab of your general setting and you'll probably want to turn off subtitles in the accessibility tab as well if you have them enabled. If you don't it probably won't have too much of an impact unless you accidentally press one of the buttons in the ATC panel but whenever you tune ATIS you'll hear both the Beyond ATC ATIS and the default one which can be quite annoying.
Very poor representation of real world ATC. The phraseology is incorrect is some cases, no "read back correct" confirmation and the need to repeat calls would drive me mad. Absolutely no chance I will be buying it!
Fair enough in it's current state but I'd recommend keeping an eye on it as it develops. The developers have made it clear they're dedicated to making a great program that's representative of the real world. In fact, the programs only been out a day and they've already released the first patch. I'm sure it will get better over time. Even in it's current state, I think it's better than the default ATC.
