I see this video was 3 years. Do you know if that track still open? I am in Midland Texas. Just trying to get into racing with my 1/5 scale Like your videos by the way!!! Thank you.
Hey!! Thanks for the support! Yes of course it is still open! You should follow us on Facebook “Houston Area 1/5scale Racers & Bashers” -that’s the name of the group. I run that group and post up events. We would love to have you join us sometime! Stay tuned on that FACEBOOK page for announcements on mod events. It’s just been hot as hell lately but we will go race there again very soon. Just 2 months ago we were there. Here’s that video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hpBQuyqracU.htmlsi=h6Mo8fD5GN4fQ13g
ABS doesn’t work without sensors to know if the wheels are locked up or not. I tried it on my XR5 (mechanical brake not hydrax) and all it did was increase my braking distance (I did stop the lockup though) A better solution is to adjust your endpoints on your brake servos so you can push the car forward and the brakes don’t lock. I found this to be a good solution to stop the lockups and spin outs without increasing the braking distance.
with abs active it keeps from locking up the brake which causes the car to go out of control when braking abs works well but does take slighlty longer distance to stop
@@sandhujatt2 there are no sensors to recognize if the wheels are locked up, so with ABS all it does is lock up the wheels intermittently. Best results are just to set up the brakes right to the point where they won’t lock period. From my anecdotal testing, all ABS does is increase braking distance.
@@sandhujatt2 so why do you think no one who races XR5, XS5 and Duox use ABS? No one is saying it doesn’t work, but it doesn’t work as well as having your brakes set up right in the first place. Modern ABS needs sensors for wheel speed, something RC cars don’t have. “These sensors monitor the rotational speed of each wheel and can update their readings hundreds to thousands of times per second. This high-frequency data is essential for the ABS system to detect any wheel lock-up situations and adjust braking pressure accordingly” Will ABS on an RC car stop you from locking up? Yes Will a ABS on RC car with no wheel sensors have a shorter braking distance than a RC with the correct brake set up? No
Very cool bro! Ive gotta check out this Martin! And that servo mount on the Rovan Harley that is an independent brake set up for the rear existing brake of the car. As that car has the older radio tray before the 2019 the 2019 radio tray you have in your ultimate and the mount there is for the hydrax brakes. I just got done reading about all this as I just ordered the MCD XS5 hahaha YES!!! Such great cars. The rovan too. you should get you a Rovan Harley for a beater bro a cheap affordable bash piece !! So you can keep the MCDs how you likem NICE!! Like me! Have a blessed one Luis I'll catch ya on the next one!
Hey bro! Thanks for the support! I just dropped a video today if you haven’t seen it yet i explain more there on my route for the Florida trip. Basically I’ll be hitting up Siesta Key, Casey Key, Venice Beach, Nokomis, Sarasota beaches, etc… cheers
Awesome bro! Great run Luis! That looks like a nice spot minus that culvert! Glad your truck didnt get banged up down in there! Hope you have a blessed week brother the fam too!
We will be having an even really soon! Please follow us on Facebook under “Houston Area 1/5th scale Bashers and Racers” i post the events there. Hope to see ya soon. Cheers
Sure! This is by Horizon hobby. It’s called the Zelos 48G Proboat. Unfortunately i believe they have been discontinued. However I’ve seen great deals online
Damm that’s 10 mins away from my home in League City. I had no idea this happened. Looks like a blast! I went there years ago when it wasn’t setup for rc. The driver stand wasn’t safe but it looks like it is now. Awesome video.
Yep! Please join us! I set these events up often. Would love to have you join us please. Look for us on Facebook book under “Houston Area 1/5 scale Bashers and Racers”. Introduce yourself there and tag me. I go by “Luis Smith” on Facebook. Hope to see ya soon. Cheers
Awesome running!! What track are you going to? I got a Vekta on the way and for a few other 1/5 scale that I would like a find some good running areas and some running buddies. You should taken them to Benny Juanas in Pasadena. Yes that’s a real place. lol.
Nice and congratulations on your new Vekta.5! Those are awesome cars bro! 👊 Also, we normally run out here at Alvin track and also a few parks near by. But in California you have an ABUNDANCE of places!! I was next to Chris Bartolone out there. Also, “Benny Juanas”? lol 😜 that’s funny lol
I grew up over off of Westheimer and San Felipe area in Tanglewood. We used to go to benihana's when I was a kid. That's how long that place had been around
Man Luis I really like that MCD I gotta get me one of those! I won't lie you scared me for a minute hahaha I thought that sucker was gonna buck the curb when you let her eat hahaha! The engine and pipe sound great. Nice n poppy! Great Video Luis! Hope you have blessed weekend with the Fam my man!!
Yep! It actually does shift but as you saw in the video i lost that bit of video while editing. Corrupt memory card i guess. Anyway… thanks for the support.
Yeah Harley! Please do! We can run together at my lake. And for electronics we have an electronic box that is taped up before every run. We use special tape.
That is really a nice RC and runs great! Loved you showed your boats again. They are beautiful. Can’t wait for you to run them. Hope you and family have a blessed week.
Thanks 👍 Yeah i need to run the boats again but it’s been a bit too humid for my taste. And for some reason the mosquitoes LOVE my blood lol. Anyway, thanks for the support and kind wishes. You have a blessed week as well Marion.
Yeah… these boats have been needing attention and currently in the process of switching them to the Futaba family lol.. but yeah thanks for watching. 👀 cheers
@@SmithRCStudios yes that is the one downside to running futaba the added cost of buying receivers for all the vehicles I myself have not converted everything yet. I sometimes take a receiver and switch it in and out of which ever vehicle I’m running that day
how many turn you screwed into the hub? they say 4-5 turn and very important this need to be tighten exactly the same on both screws, the more you screw it the more it engage at higher RPM
i some times wonder if the 2 speed on that car is worth it its a very small difference in gearing and most tracks are not big enough to use it. try and stay cool bye fin 👋🏻
Hey Gary thanks for the input. I’m well, i understand your point of view and great point. However, I’m just a fan of that 2 - speed. I guess it’s better suited for bashing, although i am racing this thing. So yeah we will see. Cheers brother
