I still remember making that cheeky dive at 02:40... They got their own back less than a lap later, of course... Recent found my old disks and wheel and thought about getting back into the racing, only to find NoGrip died over a year ago. *[Raises a glass]* Thanks for the memories, guys. It was fun for a while...
Wow, you're friendly, aren't you? That was not clever, Joven Mundologo. You were very careless to think you could talk like that and just get away with it. I have reported you for what you have said, and here's why: I said my opinion, without swearing at anybody or calling them names, because it's not clever to call songs names that have anything to do with Satan, that's messing with VERY bad things. But you are the one that was ignorant when you swore and called me names, and that's why I reported you. You can't swear and talk to people like that and think you can just get away with that. Do that again, Joven, and I will not hesitate to report you again. I'm not commenting or replying to anyone's comments on here again, because I only needed to say that once, but I will immediately report anyone that replies like Joven did.
I don't want to listen to songs that have a name like that, because even listening to songs that have bad names can open you up to very bad things, it's too risky. But Joven, reporting someone for 'being dumb' is not a good enough reason, that's childish. Swearing at people and calling them names, which is what you did, is definitely a reason to report someone, which is why I had to report you. So far, you're the only one that has done the name-calling here. And Joven, I did say before that I wasn't going to comment again, so I'm not going to reply to any comments from anyone at all after this, even if there are replies. I won't comment or reply, but if you swear at me like that again, I will report you again.
This game must have emanated from the same software platform/designers that put out Buck Rogers for Atari. The graphics and playability scheme are very similarly mediocre. My old BR cart became so glitch-ridden over time I think I just started using it as a shim spacer for a broken dresser leg or something. No big loss. No offense but, if this AOTMC game started to glitch like Buck Rogers did, it would have probably met the same fate, with the same lack of remorse.
+SouthOCmixdown Actually they were completely unrelated, AFAIK but I understand what you mean. Jeff Minter did this, and no, it wasn't a very playable game in my opinion either. I have it on 3.5 inch disc (along with a few hundred other Atari 8 bit games) so no glitches - but I haven't played it since I made the video either.
Well, glory be then lol. Guess it was just that sort of horizontal lines scrolling under to simulate forward motion(why the camel never seems to move in response/relation to that obvious forward motion is anybody's guess), and jumpy but free up and down type primary play mobility that fooled me into relating it to BR. Also, the semi-metallic, 'tinsel'-reflective pastel green, blue and orange backrounds that lots of Atari 8-bits had in those days are also very similar. The Sirius game "Turmoil", I think used those types of motifs and playability to great effect and I believe prior to the production of both BR and this game. Even though Turmoil was essentially a 1D game unlike this one and BR, if played irresponsibly enough into the faster and more manic levels, could truly lead to madness. Made Super Breakout, Tempest and Missile Command look like Leo Buscaglia hug-ins.
