Racquetball, fencing, and lacrosse. Early ESPN was really weird. IIRC, they even showed Australian rules football. Back in those days, they didn't have the means to get the most top events. It wasn't until 1987 under ABC ownership that they got the rights to "Sunday Night Football" that they really turned a corner.
@@krisstarring ESPN did get the rights to the NBA in the early 80’s but certainly the NFL in 87 and MLB in 1990 enabled ESPN to dominate sports broadcasting beyond the big 3 networks.
Wow I've had this song stuck in my head forever and couldn't find it but always had a feeling it had something to do with Geico, don't know why I didn't just try searching for old Geico commercials until now
