A real classic, mashed down the dancehalls back in the day. I've included a "quick start" dub for MCs and DJs who want a quick re-start. The hard unstoppable feel of this riddim is helped along by the heavy compression on the bass combined with the uncompressed drums. I went right back to basics with this one... the last few uploads I haven't really been happy with, so I've gone back to a less congested, more open sound. Sorry there was no uploads for a couple of weeks... Then some vibes came, and out popped this new mix of MPLA. The stripped down power of the orig is lost in this over produced version, the skills are good, over reliance in Tubby style EQ sweeps tho, v dubplate style of the late 70s. The orig was rare at the time - bass drum and keyboard - no guitar at all - emphasis on the blinding quality of the vocal gets lost. Still repect the skills, but when I drop my orig copy, prefer the orig - usually dont wirh ye remixes. Still keep em cumin Bruv, respect

Another classic from Delroy Wilson gets a new dub mix from The Bishop. I've got a digital spring reverb that's much better than the one I was using before, and combined with the high Pass Filter (AKA King Tubby's Squark Box) I'm much happier with the sound now. Far as I know , the freedom singers was a generic name for whoever was singing on that session, have heard freedom singers with Winston Francis, slim Smith Larry Marshall among others, on this rivers of babylonia I can hear at least 2 heptones!
