I often play BF3. But from time to time also other games like Crysis or so when they're released.
And I really got back into flight sims since DCS: A-10C was released. Before I played Jane's F/A-18 from time to time, which is one of the few old flight sims that still run on modern operating systems. And I'm excited about the direction the flight sim genre is moving with DCS: World and more up to date graphic engines and all!
Finally upgraded my 3 to 4 year old PC to: Asus Z87-Deluxe (C2), Intel Core i7 4770K, Kingston HyperX Beast DDR3-1600 32GB, Gainward GTX TITAN, Samsung SSD 840 Pro 256GB, Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog, Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals, TrackIR 5, Logitech MX518, Standard Cherry Keyboard ;), Win 7 Pro x64 SP1
Callsign/Nickname in game: BF3: SupertomcatX BFBC2: Supertomcat DCS: Supertomcat
I loved the change in the music when the pilots of the F14-Tomcats stopped playing around and when they got serious. The melody had someting like a cat playing with its mouse.
Wishful thinking! We didn't have the super carrier at Pearl Harbor because they were delivering Tomcats to Midway. Otherwise, they would have blown the Japs outta da sky!
I always found the appeal in this movie not just from the crazy sci fi, but the deeper examination of how they shouldn’t mess with history. Put that with a carrier fighter group and F-14s and they did it well.
This reminds me of the classic star trek episode called "Tomorrow is yesterday " where the fighter pilot spots what he thinks is a ufo and gets beamed aboard the Enterprise.
Fun fact, those are Texan T-5's dressed to look like Zero's and they genuinely shot this scene in collaboration with the Navy. You can tell who's got the military grade cameras and who's got the film maker stuff. The airborne footage looks like it could be modern recruiting footage if the DEA hadn't given up on the Super Fighter 21 F-14 project.
Superbe ces f.14 avec les ailes à géométrie variable ils ont je crois le missile Phoenix c avec un tir d.une portée de 200 km j.adore ce film je l.ai même en vhs une relique 😊
The C/O had a lot of explaining to do. When he got back to port. One guy missing, men dead and an unknown Japanese dude from 1941. How would you explain what happened?
