その通りです😃 半拍半になっているところのフレーズ1回分を音価であらわすと「32分音符+32分音符+16分音符+16分音符」になります。

Buddy Rich is a great drummer and the band follows him. Sonny Payne is a great drummer, and he compliments the band. Buddy, in this regard, is like Gene Krupa, who was a great innovator. Perhaps Joe Morrello is the greatest drummer for a small cool jazz ensemble? Is Elvin Jones the greatest drummer in the Afro-Jazz movement? I get nervous when people like Andrew make absolutist statements about the greatest.

I get nervous when people can't answer a simple question without equivocating: Buddy was the best, period. You're afraid of making a choice. It's people like you who have taken the USA to new lows. Afraid to take a stand.

@@1225KPH Whoa, Whoa, Wait ,a minute,! "Calm" down there little horsey!,😂 What do you mean make a stand🤔 I dug Buddy Rich also! but when you're talking about Music,Art, film ect, there's a thing called being subjective!, and everything doesn't resonate with everybody! @@1225KPH Buddy definitely was not the best drummer, period. There are a lot of aspects to great drumming. Buddy was strong at some and weak at others. I don't think there ever has been a best jazz drummer, but if I had to choose one, I guess I'd choose Tony Williams overall. It's people who look at things in simplistic black and white terms instead of at the complex and ambiguous big picture who have taken the USA to new lows.

When I was on the band, Buddy asked Bob Mintzer to write a new "suite" along the lines of "Channel One" and "West Side Story", so we'd have a third choice as a closer. "Good News" is what Bob came up with. Bob brought his own drummer to a rehearsal, we played the arrangement once with his drummer reading the chart while Buddy listened, then Buddy sat down on the drums with no chart & we played it again. The next time we played it was at a gig.

@@billniland5997 Jeff Stout, Greg Hopkins, George Zonce, and Tony Lada were all Buddy alumni who taught me when I was at Berklee. After I left Buddy I freelanced in NYC for years doing all kinds of gigs where I got to play with former band mates Andy Fusco & Steve Marcus plus many other alumni, before eventually forming the Glenn Franke BigBand which you can find here on RU-vid. While gigging at night & I got my accounting degree during the daytime, and I currently run a NYC Tax & Accounting Practice that serves musicians & performers nationwide. I eventually bought an apartment near Lincoln Center just a few blocks from where Buddy used to live. My years with Buddy (1978-1981) were among of the best years of my life. I think about them & reminisce with other ex-band members constantly. We all miss it and feel thankful as well as extremely fortunate to have had that opportunity.

Yeah, Buddy was such a perfectionist and like all great bandleaders could 'hear' in his mind what perfection was supposed to sound like, he could get pissed off easily. This performance sounds terrific to me, but one never knows if he chewed out the guys later. He was kind of a hot head that way, as you can hear on the infamous bus tapes!
