Why did you come back? Just to badmouth the city? If you live in Portland proper, then it can be depressing to see the homeless tents and the higher than high rentals. Move outside of the city and your viewpoint is completely different. I think you’ll find that, no matter the state, if you live in a well-populated urban city, you’ll a lot of the same problems that you whine and complain about in this video. “Oh, I’ve got the sniffles because it’s raining and more specifically, because I’m in Portland.” Thank you for leaving the beautiful state of Oregon.
lol the amount of US citizens living in Mexico rose by 70% in 2022… I’m not the only one who’s had enough. I never said Oregon was bad… I simply gave 5 reasons why I left PORTLAND. Don’t put words in my mouth and then think you’re having a legitimate debate. I love the natural beauty of Oregon and was born and raised there. Great tips! I own a place on 28th and 5th that I stay at for a few months a year. Everything around there is much more expensive than the figures you've mentioned and prices have been increasing over the last couple of years. Playa definitely isn't the low-cost destination that it used to be. I'll start checking out some of the locations that you have pointed out in this video. Thanks!
I’ve been in Portland for 19 years. Moved here from KS. Portland certainly has problems. Definitely hate the traffic and rent is outrageous. But I’d NEVER move back to KS. Really anywhere with good scenery is going to be expensive. And as far as the weather, I know many people find rainy weather depressing, but I’m in the minority who don’t mind it and actually prefer that over hot/sunny weather.
Why is this guying comparing living in Portland with living in Latin America? Has to be the strangest comparison ever especially for the majority of people watching these videos not everyone is going to move to Mexico or able to. Apparently you didn’t get the memo that literally MILLIONS of US citizens are moving to places in Mexico such as San Miguel de Allende, Playa Del Carmen, Puerto Vallarta, Queretaro and CDMX BECAUSE OF THE REASONS I LEFT PORTLAND. The cities are cleaner AND safer here and guess what… the rents are up to 80% cheaper. Portland is an overpriced cesspool full of drug addicts and people using the sidewalk for a bathroom. Their own Nike store closed down due to theft and vandalism. Now… explain to me how that’s politically motivated Alberto? Thanks.
@@jamestorres4464 I agree that it’s on the high side for MX and my apartment in PDC is less than half that amount, but sadly, in Centro, a lot of expats are paying WAY more than that. I’m trying to demonstrate normal price ranges in hopes that people stop grossly overpaying. I met an older Canadian lady there who told me she paid $4,000 usd for a 1 bedroom place and it didn’t even include utilities 😭😭😭. Thanks for checking out the video 🇲🇽❤️
wow 353 usd studio in pdc ?! is that price pretty common? i would love to find something like that , is that electric included ?, your 70% savings rate is epic, i think the best ive done is about 40 % but much lower in other years, im definitely going to shoot for that 70 in the future lol ! great advice in the video !
Yea 70% doesn’t come easy lol but I still managed to enjoy the hell out of life during those times too! $6,500mxn or $350US is NOT common but can still be found in Colosio. $550 or so is fairly common but can include a rooftop pool and laundry in some cases! The electricity is the ONLY utility not included in my studio but it’s surprisingly cheap per kw/h in that neighborhood. My ac runs all night and whenever I’m home and it’s like 550-700pesos every two months. Dirt cheap. Thanks for checking out the video and for the great questions!

That’s technically La Colosio but it’s just north of CTM and a half a block east of 5th Ave. there are a few buildings on 52nd and 54th right off 5th with QR codes to scan and see what’s available 😎

Ana! Feliz cumpleaños. I loved Centro. Really intense, but I never felt I was at risk for pick pockets, but I"m always 'big city aware' of what's possible. This Sanborn's is gorgeous and the dining room equally stunning. So much to see and the sights are behind the entrances. Don't walk by, walk into!

I love the views but can't really stomach the commentary and comparisons to US and European cities. It's obvious and even understandable that you would gloss over what Mexico really is when you come from places where culture is a transaction.
