Hello, my name is Natalka and I am a young opera singer! I am training in the United Kingdom and on this RU-vid channel I like to vlog and share my musical experiences with you. I upload vlogs, performance videos and advice videos for other classical musicians - so if any of these interest you feel free to subscribe. I started this channel during the Covid-19 pandemic as I wanted to make classical music more accessible to people in the comfort of their own homes for free. I hope we can continue to celebrate such amazing works on this platform.
And we really enjoy watching them! Carbonara, yum. I had that for dinner just yesterday. I am retired, so my weeks are only as busy as I choose to make them. And I prefer a quiet life. This week: Monday we celebrated my daughter's birthday at a cookout at my eldest son's house; Tuesday we voted in our state's election primaries (where the candidates for each party are chosen) and then I devoted the rest of the day dabbling in one of my hobbies (mathematics); Wednesday I enjoyed the perfect late summer/early autumn weather outside all day listening to music; Thursday I caught up on my YT watch list, which had accumulated quite a lengthy backlog for some reason; and this morning we went grocery shopping. I have also subscribed to Bohdana's channel. Please encourage her to add new material! Thank you both for your content.
Wow that's such a lovely way to spend the week - huge happy bday to your daughter! My RU-vid channel watch list accumulates so fast too - I'm so forgetful! Absolutely, Bohdana is so talented! Have a wonderful Friday😊
A HUGE THANK YOU to the Holy Sepulchre Church for involving us in their Lunchtime Recital Series - to have a look at all their musical activities, follow this link: www.youtube.com/@holysepulchrelondon4061
I am really enjoying making these week-in-my-life vlogs for you - If you are enjoying watching them do let me know in the comments and also tell me what a week in your life has looked like recently!!!
Wow! You look amazing and your voice is beautiful. I took a break and now I can honestly say that your singing skills have grown a lot! Thank you Natalka for sharing. Your german also.
Thank you so much - this means a lot to me as I do feel singing feels a lot different for me these days in a good way and am more comfortable expressing myself as a result❤

I've heard it said that the closest instrument to the human voice is the violin when played properly. In that case your voice is getting more and more like the epitome of violins, the Stradivariùs. Excellent sound and performance. You and Bohdana are superb.🎉
Do you have a preference for either art-songs or complete pieces like opera where acting and perhaps sometimes heavy costumes might add challenge to the "mere" singing part ???
Good question - I think to be honest both have their own charms and challenges. I have really enjoyed singing lots of art song this year, because it allows for lots of flexibility with dynamics, phrasing and often rubato cos often (but not always) it is just you and the pianist as opposed to an Orchestra which may be harder to pull around (although some art songs are written for Orchestra and singer too). Also you have to prioritise projection more in opera but I do also enjoy the costumes and sets as it helps you really feel what the character is feeling and experience it in a different way😊
