Easy to understand tutorials on tiling, fitting taps, installing toilets, baths, showers, basins, fixing leaks .. . . . . . if it's in a bathroom or kitchen and needs fixing then you can learn it here.
Fantastic tutorial! Your step-by-step guide made the process so clear and easy to follow. I especially appreciated the tips on preparing the surface before applying the silicone caulk
Just did three sides of a sink sitting on tiles. Very pleased with my first time attempt. Took less time to do it than it took to watch this video...although I did watch it twice. Thanks.
This is a perfect example of you don't know what you don't know. How are you teaching this. You don't even know what you're doing.. You explained almost everything except for cleaning the pipes, putting compound on the male thread, not female and which way the valve goes with the arrows. And no its not self explanatory. It's vital to know this and probably most DIY ers wouldn't even think to make sure the arrows are facing the flow of water. Just awful advise. I wonder how many floodey their homes from this.
It is wrong to do compound on the thread. The thread only pulls the olive onto the bare copper, the thread does not seal. When turning, the olive is formed on the bare copper. Copper forms a positive fit on copper, which creates the seal. No compound is allowed in there.
1. you took too long to get the actual Drilling 2' You can clean your diamond tool with aTrue Red Diamond Blade Dressing stone, to get more use out of it
so much materials wasted. if you know how to cut the tip and angle the silicone gun properly as you lay the bead then you won't waste so much. The correct angle must have the tip ahead of the barrel of the caulking gun and not the other way around.
I see so many.vidros where ypu recommend soapy water, to help.mold the silicone. However youd NEVER induce any water or soapy solution . just know how to ypu the edging tools ypu have and ypu wont need that soapy watery mess. Ypu inducing water and soap into the silicone mixture period.
Thank you. Problem solved. Took more than five minutes. First my seat had two horizontal silver buttons. Secondly the caps didn’t just pop off after seven years I had to persevere to get a knife blade just to lift the cap without levering the pin assembly upwards. Finally I realised that leaving the seat central was important so I had to release the other pin/cap loosen the tight bolt and position both before retightening. Piece of cake once you know how 😃. Thanks again
Thanks Kris, this is great info, helped me out massively. How long do you leave the primer to set 1 to 2 hours before adding the adhesive, i am using mapei rapidset adhesive ?
Thanks for this video. Right to the point with no nonsense. Very professional. I have to enlarge the mounting holes on my mom’s toilet bowl bc the replacement screws are larger than the discontinued standard ones that hold the tank. I’m shaking in my boots bc the unit is about $1000 and now it’s been discontinued. I can’t mess this up! Thanks again.
I'm a professional. To be able to apply silicone just like an experience professional caulker, I have been watching many videos on how to apply it perfectly. This video probably was the 20th one that I watched over about a week time. I gota say that this video is the most thorough one. Although he applied silicone roughly purposely, he taught us how to manage it. Very well done. I am saving this video.
