Kalutara Balika is one of the leading national schools in Sri Lanka situated in Kalutara District. The history of Kalutara Balika dated back to the year 1941, as a mix school established by the Buddhist Association of Kalutara. Later it was founded by Sir Cyril De Zoysa in 1942 as a girls' school which owes its beginning to the piety and selfless dedication of him. The school has progressively grown in size and reputation over the years. At present, the school has an environment of over 3000 students and a well qualified staff of over 120 teachers. Mrs. T.K. weerakoon is the current principal of Kalutara Balika Vidyalaya. The school provides primary and secondary education from grade 1 to 13 with extensive updated academic facilities and each year many students get the opportunity to enter government universities from Science, Maths, Commerce and Art streams, for their higher learning.
