I-m a sailor not a pilot but do I read right this dude was flying in a 20 mph crosswind and doing tricks? the wind.... is full of gusts and holes speed flyers...
Don't run deer at all, especially during winter. Also, it is illegal in the united states. I hope you healed up by now! I'm sorry that you had to go through this, thanks for sharing.
Whoa that was painful to watch. Speedflying is not as deadly as wing flying, but it keeps sending people with broken bones in hospital...crossing the red line is costly. Hope you heal well
At the paragliding course they teach you to wear sturdy shoes and wear gloves when you go paragliding. It looked like you were deep in the brakes verry often. Doing lots of manoeuvres close to the Hill is risky on its own. And you were not fully paying attention to flying, becouse you said wooo all the time. Mate!!, i’m really glad that you survived!! Paragliding is a verry dangerous sport If you don’t take it seriously. Thank you for sharing!, i hope you will fully recover, and hopefully meny safe flying hours after this incident.greetings!!
Speed is your friend. Have the power in reserve! Don't yell at deer, heal up perfectly and go have more fun and learn from it. God knows I've had to learn lessons the hard way. It just makes us better!
You did Little Bear as your first 14er?! Well, that's certainly one way to go about it. A little bit of research beforehand might have strongly, strongly discouraged this approach, but I'm glad it worked out. Looks like you had beautiful weather for it.
Oh bro!! I feel for you man, broke my back a little over a year ago speedflying... into a tree. Most painful experience of my life, scary too. I hope that your healing up good and any surgeries you needed went well. How long did it take to get rescue? Were you alone?
I noticed that too. We can’t see exactly how much brake he’s pulling for the majority of the flight because the remainder of the riser is obscured, but he definitely looks deep in the brakes.
Dive can surprise .. guess many ppl had to learn that the hard way. Anyway: Dude: Flying after deer is not really a reflected act .. and shouting at them like they were bros is not a mature gesture. If you respect nature, please, let them be and fly AWAY from them if possible. Hope you recover soon and find yourself reflected and humble :)
+JonNy Begood Yes definitely. Little Bear is no joke. A slip or fall of any sort in the hourglass would likely result in death. The climbing in the hourglass is not hard though, the rock is fantastic. I would say you should definitely do some aerobic and leg training before doing any class 3 or 4 peaks. That's assuming you already have class 3 and 4 experience. If you do not, you would need to train on some easier class 3 routes before attempting a mountain like Little Bear.
