If you don't mind me asking.... Have you got Aspegers or Autism. I have and can't stand this fire alarm tone. Not when a whole building is going off. Freaks me out. Other fire alarms are fine
@@alextoft9199 Exactly the same as me, I don’t like the faster version of this one either (they use it as a security/ theft alarm in JD sports and I hate it so much that I don’t go in there anymore)
@@nostalgicdreamer2014 Yes I understand. I looked at your channel out of interest. You have a lot of theme tunes and little memories from years ago like the BBC introduction. They make you feel a certain way that people can't understand or you remember that atmosphere and want to relive it over and over again. I feel the same. In regards to the alarms. I like staying in hotels but I'm always nervous the alarms will go off. I know what the detector looks like, so if it's another. I can relax. I have only recently being diagnosed. It was so obvious but I didn't realise. I still don't know how to deal with it. X
Over the years, many people have noticed that at the extremes of the trim pot settings, the chorus just won't work, and at most other settings, the sound doesn't change much, but even when it is set to work, there is a precise "best" setting, which will have the least amount of distortion and best functionality. I wouldn't use the pot like a depth/intensity adjustment. It's just slowly causing the pedal to not function properly as you turn it down. The best way I found to adjust it to the perfect setting is to use a phone/PC frequency generator app set to say 100-200hz, plug it into the CE-2, plug the CE-2 output into a recording interface set to monitor the sound coming from the pedal so you can hear it through headphones (or just plug into an amp, didn't try that. It might get loud...) turn the CE-2 ON, and crank the frequency generator's volume up until the CE-2 is clipping. There is one precise point in the trimpots adjustment that will have no distortion. Easy. For me, the pots middle lug has like 5.7 volts on it at the perfect, cleanest setting. I've seen 4.5V (half of 9V) mentioned, but that's just a starting point. It'll vary unit to unit.
it sets the bias voltage of the BBD. Has to be set just right. As you turn the trimpot knob, it goes like no chorus (distortion present) > chorus > no chorus (distortion present). music-electronics-forum.com/attachments/29491d1404312320-boss-ce-2_service-notes-service-manual-repair-schematics-online-download.pdf
Is it 10k or 5k then? I've made my project with 10k, it works just like to mention, but after its halfway, there's no chorus, its like half of its range is active.
