At 50 years old and I haven't seen this episode since I was probably about 7:00 or 8:00 and for whatever reason it's the only one that I distinctly remembered. What a treat to be able to watch The flying Dutchman again on Land of the Lost all of these years later
I remember this episode from when I was a little kid and had no clue.... That dude was trying to f*** that little girl... Yo this is f***** up... And then her uncle accepted his apology and said he understood....what you mean you understood? That dude was trying to f*** your underage niece and you saying you understood what's that supposed to mean?
He means that he understands why he did it… he was lonely… this was probably the only woman he has seen in 1000 years… He did it because he was lonely… is it wrong yes, but what can you do about it he can’t go to jail he’s already in jail on his own ship. also, he’s the villain. Of course the villain is going to do villainous things, there’s nothing fucked up about the writers for writing him as such.
Why must everything be perverted through the eyes of 21st century wokeism? Here, this will make you angry. I think people who make videos like this are attracted to 12 year olds. You’re the pervert.
He's lonely and she's company...and also young and female. If we remember our history it was not unusual for females to marry young. A man would go off and make his fortune and then take a wife usually he and his late 30s if not 40s and she and her late teens. I think any of these subversive sexual overtones are simply being inferred, because that's the kind of oversexualized over sexually saturated culture we live in.
Hang on. Their father went through ANOTHER time portal and Uncle Jack "came looking" and found them, And where did the sailor come from? I guess millions must've gone through the portal to the Land of the Pervs!
I dont like it when the same word has multiple meanings. in one of the other comments, someone said he is grooming her. I see a local dog parlor that says they groom dogs.......I dont even want to know.
back in the old days, older men married really young girls. its good that it changed. if we wait until they are fully mature, that would make them like sixty or seventy I think.
It's no secret that America has moved to the RIGHT since the last century, and thus people today who look back at the free and innocent 1960's can't understand it. Circa 2023 we are living in an uptight, overbearing, backward, and narrow-minded Trump era (and one that violates our founding principles I might add). So what if the captain develops a fondness for Holly? Didn't King David in the Old Testament develop a fondness for Abishag? Didn't the Jamestown men develop a fondness for Pocahontas, when she was eleven and performed gymnastics for them? Don't be so quick to cave in to politically-correct thinking. Popular American culture these days is TOXIC.
