I dont think I can ever agree with the abusivive part unless there's some sort of wisdom behind why a person can divorce if their spouse died but not when they're being abused?
@ScottLaPierre
@ScottLaPierre День назад
@rehenabegum9732 please help me understand what you mean by this: “I dont think I can ever agree with the abusivive part.” Do you mean you think this should be reason for divorce? Also, you wrote, “Why a person can divorce if their spouse died but not when they're being abused.” I’m not sure what gave you this impression, but people can’t divorce their spouse when their spouse dies. They wouldn’t need to anyway because death is the only biblical end of a marriage.

@@ScottLaPierre Im saying youre only allowed to technically remarry if your spouse dies. However, even if youre being abused, in the eyes of God you are still married and you cant get divorced if the abuser chooses not to leave. The person being abused needs/should instead call him to God which is very unrealistic. If youve ever been in an abusive relationship then u know they would never listen to u especially if youre trying to call him to God. Hell most likely lash out. Also if the abuser chooses to leave then the abused should stay single to show the true word of God? Im sorry but an abuser isnt going to think "Wow shes really a person of God" but will instead think "Wow shes really pathetic and obsessed with me".

People will surely misinterpret it for when christians forgive nowadays, all they all need to say is "father forgive them" and their offenders will be magically forgiven without repentance! No need for justice! For if we demand justice upon God, we are harkening unforgiveness. God does not punish your wrong doers, he is a loving God. Once we say "father forgive them", everybody goes to heaven!
@ScottLaPierre

@jaguar004 I’m sorry, but I’m unsure if I completely understand your comment. Are you saying we can pray for others to be forgiven, and God will forgive them without those people repenting and turning to Christ? Also, in your last sentence, are you saying everyone goes to heaven? In other words, do you believe in universalism?

@@ScottLaPierre Oh yes! We must be forgiving at all times. Pray for them and they will be forgiven even if they don't repent! *Sarcastically. ... That's how christians forgive nowadays, right? You are not a teacher. The Rich man is the Jews who hold the kingdom and the poor man is The Lost Sheep of the House of Israel. Now go search out a teacher of the word.
@ScottLaPierre
@ScottLaPierre 6 дней назад
@markh4926 why did you call Lazarus the poor man versus calling him Lazarus (the name he's repeatedly given in the account)? Is it because you knew doing so would weaken your case? There are four reasons to believe this was an account with actual people... First, the account is never called a parable…even though most of Jesus’s other parables in Luke are called parables: Luke 8:4 HE SAID IN A PARABLE, 5 “A sower went out to sow his seed… Luke 12:16 HE TOLD THEM A PARABLE…“The land of a rich man produced plentifully Luke 13:6 HE TOLD THIS PARABLE: “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard. Luke 14:7 HE TOLD A PARABLE to those who were invited, when he noticed how they chose the places of honor But in this account there’s no mention of it being a parable. Second, Jesus doesn’t begin with the phrase the kingdom of God is like as He did with most parables. Third, the characters in Jesus’s parables are never named, but in this account, there are Lazarus and Abraham. It implies they were real people. Fourth, the account doesn’t fit the definition of a parable. The word parable is related to our word parallel because Jesus placed an earthly story alongside a heavenly reality. Parables contain metaphors that illustrate spiritual truths. For example, if you think about the parable of the sower: The sower represents Jesus, the seed represents the Word of God, the soil represents people’s hearts. But in this account, there are no metaphors. The rich man, Lazarus, Hades, and Abraham don’t represent anything other than what they are. We don’t have to look for any deeper meaning behind the individuals or elements.

@@ScottLaPierre I'm not trying to be mean to you. I've been a student of the scriptures since 1975 and should be able to teach a little at least. There are a lot of young men who think they know the Word of God but are just guessing. The rich man is the Jews and had the kingdom in possession and not doing according to God's law but making a lot of money etc. The poor man is The Lost Sheep of the House of Israel. God had divorced the Northern Kingdom of Israel when he sent the Assyrians to capture and deport the Israelites. They became wild but they still did as God commanded which was to move to Northwestern Europe and the British Isles. The Apostles went there and preached to them the Gospel of the Kingdom of God and they accepted the Gospel and became Christians. Now the Rich Man was dispossessed of the Kingdom and the Poor man Lazarus became the heirs of the Kingdom. The Parables are not easy to understand and that's why I said, now go find a teacher. Here's one, Pastor Charles A Jennings here on youtube. He will lead you to other Kingdom preachers if you like. Sorry, I can be too blunt a lot of times. I'm trying to be a bit gentler.

@@markh4926 first, this is a clip, but I hope you listen to the whole sermon, which you can find here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iYyuj7ooakg.html Second, I will respond to a few of the things you wrote… “The rich man is the Jews and had the kingdom in possession and not doing according to God's law but making a lot of money etc. The poor man is The Lost Sheep of the House of Israel.” I look at multiple commentaries before preaching, and I don’t remember ever hearing this interpretation before. The main disagreement seems to be whether this is a parable or whether the rich man and Lazarus were real people, but I don’t know any respected people holding your position. Additionally, I wrote a research paper on this account in my systematic theology class for my Master's in biblical studies. I looked it over twenty different professional resources for citations. Your previous comment read, “You are not a teacher…Now go search out a teacher of the word.” I would say the references I used were from great teachers and theologians, and I don’t remember any of them agreeing with your interpretation. If you provide your email address, I will send you the research paper so you can learn what the passages are about because you’re off in your interpretation. Also, you wrote, “I’m not trying to be mean to you…Sorry, I can be too blunt a lot of times. I'm trying to be a bit gentler.” I don’t think your weakness is meanness, bluntness, or lacking gentleness. Instead, I think it is pride.

@lyzrockgirl Thanks for listening and commenting, but I’m not sure what you’re talking about. Please consider these verses I preached on: Mark 10:11 And he said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.” This verse states the opposite opposite of what you wrote. This blames the man for divorcing his wife and accuses him of committing adultery against her. Luke 16:18 Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery. This verse is similar. It condemns the man for divorcing his wife and committing adultery and condemns a man for marrying a divorced woman. If you would like to elaborate or rephrase your question, I will try to help.

@@ScottLaPierre Clarification Adultery as Defined in the Old Testament: In ancient Israelite law, adultery was primarily understood as a sexual relationship between a man and a married woman who is not his wife. The key aspect here is the woman’s marital status. If she was married, her involvement with another man (regardless of whether he was married or not) was considered adultery (Deuteronomy 22:22, Leviticus 20:10). New Testament Perspective: Jesus’ Teachings on Adultery: In the New Testament, Jesus expands the definition of adultery to include not just the physical act but also the intent (as seen in Matthew 5:28). However, He still emphasizes the woman’s marital status when discussing adultery. Divorce and Remarriage: When Jesus talks about divorce and remarriage, as seen in Mark 10:11 and Luke 16:18, He does indeed focus on the impact of divorce on both the man and the woman. But the sin of adultery is particularly highlighted when a man marries a woman who has been divorced. Luke 16:18: “Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.” This verse suggests that marrying a woman who has been divorced (regardless of whether the man himself is divorced) is considered adulterous. This is because, according to the strict interpretation of Jesus’ teaching, the woman is still bound by her original marriage covenant in the eyes of God. Key Points: Biblical Definition of Adultery: Traditionally, adultery is defined by the woman’s marital status-specifically, a married woman having relations with a man who is not her husband. Jesus’ Expansion of the Concept: Jesus broadens the concept to include any remarriage after divorce, applying the term “adultery” not just to the act of infidelity but also to the act of marrying someone who has been divorced. In summary, the biblical definition of adultery indeed centers on the woman’s marital status, particularly in traditional contexts. However, Jesus’ teachings in the New Testament broaden this definition to address issues of divorce and remarriage.

@@lyzrockgirl You wrote, “Yes, in traditional biblical context, adultery is often discussed with a focus on the woman’s marital status.” Do you think the verses I shared in my previous comment and the sermon substantiate this? I don’t. I think they put as much or even more responsibility on the man. I appreciate when you cite verses because that’s our standard. You mentioned Deuteronomy 22:22, which says, “If a man is found lying with the wife of another man, both of them shall die, the man who lay with the woman, and the woman. So you shall purge the evil from Israel.” Unless I’m missing something, this holds the man equally responsible. And I feel like it’s the same with Leviticus 20:10: “If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.” You mentioned Mark 10:11 and Luke 16:18, but they focus more on demand than the woman. So, I’m sorry, but I don’t see it. It seems to me that God holds both parties responsible.

@ScottLaPierre Месяц назад
@@rollysj384 Part of your question is easy to answer, and part is hard to answer. The easy part is that the believing thief was not punished for his sins because no believers are punished for their sins. Jesus took the punishment for our sins. The hard part of your question relates to whether paradise refers to heaven or the place of comfort in Abraham’s bosom. Jesus said the thief would be with him in paradise “today.” The problem is that Jesus did not go to heaven until His ascension. John 20:17 says, “Jesus said to her, ‘Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” We know that he was not in heaven between His death and resurrection. Matthew 12:40 Jesus said, “For just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” So, between His death and resurrection, he was in the grave. So, if the thief was with Jesus “today,” he likely went with Jesus to the place of comfort in Abraham’s bosom, also called paradise.

Edit: I checked your website and sermons, but nowhere in the Bible says all babies go to heaven. You arrive at this point by some assumptions like babies can't sin, or to sin you have to be outside the womb. Well, we will be judged for the thoughts we had too so you saying babies don't think? What about general revelation as soon as birth. What about 2TIMOTHY3:14-15. Where in the Bible says that? Look psalm51:5 surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. Ironically if this is all that Scott LaPierre has ever believed, he will be one of the people saying "Lord, Lord" as shown in Mathew 7 21:23 he will be relying on his changed life for salvation which is a work, Jonah 3:10 "And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not."
@ScottLaPierre
@ScottLaPierre Месяц назад
@superdoobo your language has become increasingly harsh. In your first comment, you called me a heretic, then a false teacher, and now you are saying that I am one of the people who will hear these words from Jesus. Essentially, you’re saying I will go to hell. No, I do not believe people rely on a changed life for salvation. If people changed their lives to be saved, then there would be no reason for them to be saved because their lives were already changed. Instead, we get saved, and then our lives change. I’m not sure what I said would make you think I think otherwise.
@superdoobo
@superdoobo Месяц назад
@@ScottLaPierre But a changed life is not evidence of salvation. Nor is evidence required since Jesus is all knowing, I don't have to prove I'm saved he already knows who is saved and who isn't. The people in Mathew 7 21:23 are essentially saying to Jesus look at my changed life, this is evidence of my salvation. Incorrect of course.
@ScottLaPierre
@ScottLaPierre Месяц назад
@@superdoobo A changed life is evidence of salvation: • Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments (1 John 2:3). • He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him (1 John 2:4). • But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked (1 John 2:5-6). • Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous (1 John 3:7). Again, we are not saved by our righteousness or obedience, but righteousness and obedience are evidence of salvation. Any honest reading of these verses makes this clear.

34:46 False teachers typically don't define the will of the father because if they do then they can't justify the false "repent of your sins" heresy. What is the will of the father? John 6:40 (KJV) "And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day."
@ScottLaPierre
@ScottLaPierre Месяц назад
@superdoobo, okay, so if I understand you, you are saying I am a false teacher because I teach people to repent and believe to be saved versus believe? This looks to the Lordship salvation debate; we seem to fall on different sides.
@superdoobo
@superdoobo Месяц назад
@@ScottLaPierre Correct, repentance in the bible is a change of mind from unbelief to belief. Turning from sin is a work and is not a requirement for salvation since we are not saved by our works. Jonah 3:10 "And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not." A second example would be the thief on the cross who never asked Jesus for forgiveness of his sins but simply believed in Jesus for his salvation. Since we are not saved by works and turning from sin is a work it then mixes works with grace and hence grace is of no effect.
@ScottLaPierre
@ScottLaPierre Месяц назад
@@superdoobo I agree with you that repentance is a change of mind. But I disagree with you that repentance is not required for salvation. I hold to Lordship salvation, but you don’t, and it seems like you hold to easily believe in him. Please see this post to understand the difference between the two: www.gotquestions.org/lordship-salvation.html Romans 10:9 says, “ If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. “ People must confess Jesus is Lord and believe to be saved. This is to say Jesus must be Lord and Savior, versus just Savior. The book of Acts presents a strong association between repentance and salvation: • Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. • Acts 3:19 Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, • Acts 11:18 When they heard these things they fell silent. And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life.” • Acts 17:30 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, • Acts 20:21 testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance toward God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. • Acts 26:20 but declared first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout all the region of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds in keeping with their repentance. I’m surprised you mentioned the Ninevites. They are a clear example of people being saved following repentance. The same was true of the thief on the cross. There was much evidence of his salvation. He rebuked him and him the other and confessed his own sinfulness.: Luke 23:39 One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him, saying, “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!” 40 But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.”
@superdoobo
@superdoobo Месяц назад
Typically heretics mix the requirements for discipleship with salvation. You are left with a works based salvation. Salvation is easy, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ alone for your salvation. Discipleship is very difficult.
@ScottLaPierre
@ScottLaPierre Месяц назад
@superdoobo I’m not sure I completely understand your comment. In particular, are you saying I mixed the requirements for discipleship with salvation, in which case it would also seem that you are saying I am a heretic? So I am asking to be sure. I agree that getting saved is easy, but following Christ is difficult.

perhaps St. Paul is wrong sometimes. his own authority told him to persecute Christians. the Nazis were the governing authority, were they from God? the Americans nuked Japan twice, killed millions in Iraq, rapes the world continuously, and are funding the genocide in Gaza. are the American authorities from God? Jesus himself wants us to treat our brother how we want to be treated, to love each other and care for each other, to deny the law when the law says "don't do good on the Sabbath" or "stone the adulteress". evil authorities must be dismantled to follow Christ's teachings, and there is absolutely no way to follow Christ's teachings without disobeying authority. the only real authority is God himself. God knows no countries and no authorities.
