what does stop getting voltage by cutting that trace? I have a pixmob with a 2013 date and it doesn't seem to have that 2 traces or a jumper on the battery and I can't find how to enable the open mode
Also looking here for the info on the Shawn Mendes Australia tour bracelets that are similar but RGB. Wonder if they need to transmit a wake up signal, or have received a kill signal at the end of the show. Another video said they may control the color with DMX if anyone has that kind of equipment to play around with.
Mario Azevedo mine is from the rep i put a plastic strips in the little whole thing so the battery will not connect and turn off wjen you take it out i should work again.
Mario Azevedo if you have another one try changing the battery but don't cut the wire part maybe the new ones you don't need to cut the wire. (If i doesn't work idk what to tell you sorry)
No luck, I ended up asking the makers of the bracelet and they told me to get in touch with someone who works for Taylor's show lol why would I do that when they are the makers of the bracelet. Anyways when I removed the batteries it stopped blinking and the only way I could get it to blink again was using the pixmob app connected to Bluetooth.
when do you know if the trace has been successfully cut? am i just supposed to be scratching off the grey color? i feel like i've literally scratched it down to the nub and mine still doesn't work...
All versions have a trace you can cut. It may be indicated as "Open Mode" (i.e. V5). Some of them may be a solder via instead of a trace. Also, you "hack" all of them just by removing the batteries. No need to take it apart.
+Swiftie 1989 Montreal Tour Did you replace them the right way and use fresh batteries? . They are LEDs and should last a long time (1000's of hours). See this website how to clean a pcb board. www.instructables.com/id/Cleaning-up-your-PCB/
i found out that it was the spring that was gone when I opened it... I took one from a broken pencil, re-shaped it as the one I needed, and now it works!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Mine didnt even work at the concert, and the guy in front of me was a photographer only there to take pics, and he gave me his bracelet. so i wanted to give my friend who couldnt go the one that didnt work, but now i can give her one that works ^-^
Thanks for posting this. I left the show during the extended curtain call and it was lighting up anymore with motion like another band I got at a previous show. My guess was that I left before the band got the signal to switch modes. I can't believe someone actually had a hack posted on it. The beauty of the Internet.
Also interested to know, got 3 of them from the Shawn Mendes show, none of them work after and it makes me wonder if they're maybe a cheaper version without the motion sense or if their lighting engineer just never set it up to send the command to put it in motion mode. Whatever the case they're cool and all but a bit of a waste of resources if they're one time use only.
i've opened up the one i have, but it has different built where there are no traces what i cant cut or anything like that.. (i wish i can post picture of it in here - it has marking on the circuit board "Designed with 🖤 in Montreal", with black heart)
I was able to get my 4 bracelets out of remote control mode into motion activated mode. The batteries do not last long sitting in motion activated mode (maybe the bracelet is still searching for a signal?). So now I replaced the batteries and put a skinny slice of water bottle plastic in the slot between batteries (like it was delivered to most) and remove the plastic when the kids wan to play with the bracelets.
Hey. My wristband hasn't been activated. (The string was still between the batteries, while I was at the concert). I now opened the wristband and cut that string inside. It's still not working. WHAT CAN I DO?!
Since Mine just started blinking when the concert started and stopped afterwards while some of the others continued blinking afterwards. Is this the way? Thank you very much in advance!!!
INSPirrationalNATURE The little slit in the side is where a small plastic strip was inserted to keep the batteries separate until you wanted to turn it on at the concert. I've heard of some concert venues where the people who handed you the bracelet had already removed this tab. Just find a small strip of plastic and shove it into that slot. It will keep the batteries apart again and will turn it off.
