This is the official page of SkyMarshall Arts, a norwegian electronic music project established by Eirik Hafskjold in 1993 in Sande in Vestfold in Norway - and maintained in some shape or form up until this very day. Our trademark sound has more or less become melodic vocal/instrumental remixes of classic game-music from the Amiga 500, Commodore 64, Playstation, PC and Nintendo systems, claiming to make music for the gamer generation. And from time to time, I upload a new one.
Yo it's been 16 years since this dropped when are you gonna do a remastered version of this you know to celebrate it being a decade and 6 years by the way just a question when were you born
Hmm what a strange version of Neil Cicierega's epic opus of 2005 😁😁😁 Nice version, it's a shame that the original isn't mentioned in the description though...
Listen, I'm gonna have to ask you to calm aaall the way the hell down dude. This was made back when RU-vid were in diapers. Didnt even know who Neil Cicierega was before right now. Turns out he is Lemon Demon, and that I do remember. Will put it in the credits. Thanks for reminding me, havent heard that one probably 15 years.
I listen to his music since probably a decade, but this man gives me an existential crisis and nostalgia for a time I wasn't even born. But it fuels my hobby to buy old tech.
Its odd, i used to listen to this in highschool a lot, around 2016 or so in 10th/11th grade. Hearing this again now reminds me of playing Super Mario All-Stars + SMW on the SNES when i was really young. Won't lie, every time I hear this song that's always what pops into my head. Sometimes I play on the switch with him, and I just have to hold back tears because it reminds me of a time i truly loved and enjoyed. I'm glad I found this again. This song will always have a place in my heart because it reminds me of my roots. Thank you.
My RU-vid account is pretty old now so I'm going through my old favorites, I've had this in mine for 16 years now. Pretty fucking wild how time flies. This is so nostalgic for me now. Still amazing in 2024
Just posting as I occasionally do, to say the same thing... this is the most underrated channel on RU-vid. Every song is a masterpiece. Eirik is a genius. Thank you for making my life better.
I really want to do a cover of this song really really bad. If anyone would work with me and make the track and everything I would just provide my voice.

This song perfectly sums up so many things about life, growing up, and what's important to each of us. We fondly remember our memories of younger days with less responsibilities and carefree worlds, and games help represent that world that we can go back to. Games are a hobby and fun to play, but they can mean so much more. The stories, memories, and connections we've made while gaming are huge parts of why we love it so much. That's what the song meant to me. Thank you SkyMarshall for another incredible, emotional song!!
This was a nostalgia explosion..when I was 8 or 9 I found a real life mario vid with this song and I watched it over and over again just for the song...I was able to find that vid and the song from it recently
Dude same. I miss the old youtube back in 2013-14, when you randomly clicked on a weird mario/spongebob/anime fan video and all of them had banger music and all of these was made in Windows movie maker. What a time to be alive
I wouldn't say that everything back then was "better" but it was simpler and nicer. My Girlfriend is 27 as well and never played video games up until 5 years ago. She only played the normal mainstream games likes Counter Strike and stuff and when I started buying all the old consoles (which she hated the graphics from) and played with her she finally understood. Retro games (real retro) are simpler, its plug and play, no enforcement to stay online or to play longer than you want. Nowadays when I buy and start a game the first question I always ask myself is: "Can I afford to play it? Do I have the time to play this game and can I keep up with it?" Retro games don't need this, I start up Mario 64, collect my stars, turn the console off and dont feel stressed to log in tomorrow to keep up with the rest of the players.
