I wouldn't call it fairy tale nor Frank Loyd at all. I would however say that the architect behind it did a wonderful job of blending it to the terrain and keeping nature in mind. Beautiful. Not my style, but I like it!
Fair enough, and that's what I love about most of my audience... Even when it's not your cup of tea, the ability to recognize something as beautiful. Thanks for watching! -Chris
I found that the people that worked in HEB and HOME DEPOT in Dripping Springs to be unhelpful and down right rude.... there's nothing much there... its dry and almost as expensive as Austin. I'm so glad I moved.
Wow, that's a really interesting data point and completely opposite my experience. But, different experiences definitely exist. And, yeah Drip is dry, it's on the edge of a huge desert. 🤣 Sorry for your bad experience, hopefully you found a home somewhere that's perfect for you! -Chris
I used to visit my Aunt in Dripping Springs each summer, back in the 80's. Mom would take me to the Greyhound bus station in Hempstead, Tx and put me on a bus to Austin....Man, those were the days!!! 😂🙌
I'm right up the road in Lakeway and I approve of this property. Wow, I would love to live there! I'm in 3300 sq ft, with high ceilings, tall floor to ceiling windows everywhere, a huge multi-level (trex) private deck that wraps around from the kitchen to the master, all facing a pond and a serene golf course. Yet, when I hear "5 acres" and see those views, the dynamics of all that's going on there, and that space?! I'd be there asap if I could!
It's truly a beautiful area and town! Make sure to get off the highways as soon as you can...I suggest 1826 to driftwood and then either Elder Hill to 12 or 150 down to the Old Kyle highway and then into Wimberley. Get there early if you want to walk around so you can find parking. There's a lot with bathrooms near the square and across the road from my friend Alicia's boutique "My Happy Place." Have a great time!! -Chris
Biggest problem with Austin texas is it is in texas. Very very high property home taxes 1.6 percent per 100 dollars. When you add property and insurance Upto 500 to 1000 more a month plus mortgage payments. My house is paid off but still pay 7000 a year taxes and insurance and that doesn't change if you lose your job or retire. Texas gas tax one the lowest In the country that is why property taxes are so high. Rich people will not pay state income tax that why no tax. Rich and oil companies run texas.
Fair point, but, overall, Texas is just below the median cost of living for the US. So, even though we have the high tax rates on property, it's still cheaper to live here than most other places in the US. Now, if we stop wasteful spending at the local and county levels, we could get that cost of living even lower 💪💪💪💪 -Chris
Lovely home, and obviously built by someone who appreciates the beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Something tells me, however, that even though it's on piers it has its fair share of scorpions. Nothing stops those bastards. Always makes me smile when I hear a California or New York transplant discovering our local fauna for the first time!!
There are definitely more houses with more on the way, but there's still plenty of peace and quiet for those looking for that❤️❤️ Thanks for watching!! -Chris
😢 every acre of our beautiful land will be wiped away within a few years at this point. Unless you are a multi-millionaire you will never see the beautiful hill country again.
Can you touch on the rental market in the area? There are a ton of homes for lease at the moment but not sure if it is too saturated. Would like to go with a new construction home in the area and possibly price to rent.
I just want to make sure I understand what you're asking, and yes, I'm more than happy to! Are you considering buying new construction as a rental investment for yourself?

An architect you say!?! Um, loose ANYTHING on a SLOPED walkway spells DISASTER! It might look lovely, but it is not practical nor safe for those unsteady or who may misstep! 😳
I truly love the materials the house is made out of. I am elderly and have difficulty with stairs, so this would be out of the question for me. But, I truly love everything about this property. Very well designed. Love it...
I think it was done very thoughtfully as well. Obviously it's not for every life situation but, it's still truly a remarkable home. Thank you for watching and commenting! -Chris
@livinginaustintx If I was younger, I would jump on it. But, at 81 I will stay here in the Rancher. Only 1.8 acres but a lovely place to be. Thank you again for showing such a lovely place for sale and worth every penny and more.
Imagine you have been here since 86' , why do realtors make these videos lol You guys cleaned up with pandemic buying. That should be enough in itself. The new generation is who im concerned about. Hopefully they can succeed in this hyperinflation climate.
Thanks for watching! I personally make them for a few reasons (none of which are the sensationalized thumbnails my editors insist on.) But the main one is to try and tell the real story about what Austin is, and it ain't for everyone. And this video, specifically, is to prevent people from moving here if it's not for them. Pretty odd, huh, a greedy damn used car salesman Realtor trying to keep people from moving to an area? And yes, I had a couple of pretty good years during covid, but you know who made more money? The sellers I helped cash in as well as just about anyone else in a service based economy during that time. But what I'd encourage you to do is friend me on FB and go look at what my content was like during that time and who I spent the vast majority of that time helping. If you've been here since 86, we'd probably get along really well...reach out, let's go grab a coffee or a beer🍻 -Chris
I'm sure this home sold quickly. I live an hour from this place. I used to live in the city, but now I have my own sanctuary on 5 acres and love it. People complaining about taking care of the property....get a few goats, and they'll take care of it. I have 4 horses and only mow the part we have designated as the front and back yard.
I appreciate this video! I’m flying for the first time next month and happen to be doing it alone! Very nervous. I’m trying to figure out the airport before I go, to try to make it as smooth and stress free as I can lol
Thank you, Mrs Wright, your son's honor is now safe🤣🤣🤣🤣 In as much as it's hanging out over the water, though, is very reminiscent of FLW waterfall house. At least to me, but thanks for watching! 🍻-Chris
You need a cherry picker on the property to just clean! Ugh! Those trees in the Hill Country are high maintenance! You are going to have to hire a permanent yard service.
I mean, in a fairy tale, there's not need for cleaning and storage. That's what all the birds and woodland creatures are for!! 🤣 Thanks for watching 🍻-Chris
@@livinginaustintx I've only found a few places that do it decent, but not great, not like in Texas. One place (Bubbaques) claims they smoke their brisket but it has no smoke flavor nor a smoke ring. Tastes like it came out of a regular oven with no seasoning, it's just bland as can be. I do my own better than most places around here.

🤣 Hey dude, no. I've been here since 99. Not as long as some, but I've damn sure been here long enough to criticize what I've seen happen to the town. There's still good here as well, but it deserves to have the truth told about it. 🍻-Chris
Hi Linda, thanks for watching and asking! The literal translation from spanish means small house. We tend to call second, detached, smaller living units casitas. Other names would be accessory dwelling units (ADUs) or, I've even heard "Granny Flat" here lately, to mean a mother in law's quarters Thanks again! -Chris
