I loved the character, but are they intentionally hiding or ignoring the obvious Anton Chigurh references? Apex predator, speaks in riddles, bad haircut with the exact motif... I mean, the list goes on. Why would they act like they don't even know who Anton is?
What does Ed do with all the money he collects from clients? He seems to live a rather humble life. I wonder if maybe he gives some back in the form of a kind of head start for clients to establish themselves in their new location.

Peterson is surprisingly receptive and appreciative of Zizek, but I don't know if that would have been the case were Zizek a true Marxist. Zizek only wears the badge of Marxist in order to be provocative. He doesn't advocate for the end of Capitalism, for instance. Peterson thought he was set to debate whatever confused image of a Marxist extremist he had lurking in his imagination. He was relieved and ultimately disarmed to find that he was debating something else entirely
