This is my V2, second channel, covering many of the videos from the main @Andywiththespanners channel but here we go deeper, we give you longer and more in depth videos as well as more explainer videos covering all things motorcycle and sometimes car stuff too!

Hi Andy. Just saw your video. Having owned a CBX from new and drag raced in street classes, I really wanted to do something like you did but supercharged. Here's a short video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bvW_fkZiITw.html of what I eventually built Kawasaki 1199cc. The next step was to supercharge it but life got in the way. The video is from the 1997 Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway here in Australia. Well done!
Well done Andy, this reminds me of the fast jet plane Concorde, a blend of beauty and engineering excellence that impressed everyone who looked but is now sadly gone. What a beast!
Anthony, the revving before launching the bike was to build speed in the turbo. with running a large turbo you can't wait a couple of seconds for it to spool up, you need it all right away or the motor would bog down off the line. 1st gear would take you to around 100 ph so you need it all right away. These days, with modern electronic boost controllers and anti lag systems you can dial in your launch revs and just let rip. As to the over revving, we used to rev the motor to 12,000 rpm with the right valve train and cam profiles to do it, the six cylinder motor always sounded like it was doing more! Andy.
+Flying Towball what killed the engine is the constant throttle playing in over revving while sitting still before launch and starting line... you got the horsepower, you got the big tire, you got the frame the launch it down the track, why burning up before you need to use it? if you have a 1 gallon fuel tank why burn up your fuel?
Do you have any Len Paget (Southampton) videos? IIRC he rode a CBX at Podington Airfield IIRC. He had daily rider too. I watched him do 100' wheelies down many a morn' down Totton causeway. I watched a CBX with nasty turbos at Santa pod back in '84 - was that you guys? It had white livery . . .
FlyingTowball Cool. He was a local lad done well. I was just 18 (1982) when I first saw him ride past my work and he was a local legend then. I never had the opportunity to meet him. He had amazing control of his CBX. Got the backlash just right for clutches shifts. Sounded like an air shifter (maybe it was IDK) He could get that front wheel up silly high at 70 mph and just hold it there like a circus performer. I was on my way home one time on my '75 RD250 and it was drizzling. He went by like a blur on his CBX redlining and spinning the wheel for what seemed like 300 yards. Scared the f'ck out of me. I'm sure he did it on purpose lolz
@barryrs Glad you are enjoying the car, I had a great time with it and it performed brilliantly all around europe and in the mountain passes in the Alps, there;s another clip on my channel here of a ride up a mountain pass too. Probably the best car I have ever owned and I miss it!
Swindon England, the driver was NOT injured in this crash. I should know i was part of the safety/rescue team on location coming from Iceland. I went with the guy in the ambulance to the hospital, he was released after a thorough checkup. This same driver HAD crashed a couple of years earlier and then sustained massive injuries.
