Excellent presentation! I think this will help me get started back into oil painting.

I also love the foam board idea for hanging pastel drawings . Mine are just laying flat in drawers side by side and I’m quickly running out of space . I think I can probably store them in an album with those sheets between them that come in the packet of pastelmat papers ?? ( I’m not sure) but a combination of worrying about them getting messed up and just not having or taking the time to do it has me just letting them lay out everywhere until I found a cheap set of drawers at the thrift shop . My cat likes to walk on things lol so had to find a place for my art .

I have the Bob Ross pops figure to lol. You’ve given me some ideas here and reminded me to take care of my back . I have sore lower back and my arms and hands get achy lately no matter what I’m doing . If I’m using my arms and hands they get sore these days . Getting older is not fun lolol . Ok well it’s still fun lol … especially since I have more time to do arts and diy’s / crafts etc. I feel happy and at peace when I’m doing art . Thank you Jason . Your teachings are doing more than you know for people . I truly feel art is my therapy . And I can express all the beauty I see in the world rather than focusing on the draining sad stuff like …. The news lol .

Love this video tip but I have one question. Do you use the black gouache or black pastel pencil to sharpen the edges after you are done with the lighter colors? Thanks again for this video

I am using Faber Castle Pastel pencils, and pastelmat paper and my pencils do not spread through the paper as you do here, nor paint so clear on the details as you show here.....whyyyyy?????

So helpful Jason - Thank you. The tip about printing on decent quality paper is so important too! Colour selection is something I must be a little more disciplined about in my artwork as it’s so important to a decent finished piece. Great art and great advice and thank you for sharing.
