A UK channel dedicated to Bushcraft and the great outdoors. I discovered Bushcraft through RU-vid in the summer of 2014 (thanks to MCQ Bushcraft and BushcraftBartons) and wanted to make a channel about some of the things I have learned and have attempted since. I don't have land with permission to make fire or use tools so these aspects will be done in a secluded section of my garden - hence the channel name! I aim to demonstrate that even in the garden one can learn Bushcraft. The outdoors, hiking, foraging and photography elements of my channel will be recorded on day hikes, overnighters to out of the way camp sites and on strolls. I am certainly no expert at anything I show on this channel- I have learned from others and am amazed at their competency and skill and hope one day to be of a similar level but as of now this channel is to record the learning process of someone still new to the hobby. I hope at least a few will find the channel and videos interesting/entertaining.Enjoy.

The word Bushcraft is used so flagrantly by most people nowadays, people have no true concept of Bushcraft which is basically outdoors living skills, or Knowledge. Bushcraft IS NOT all about gucci kit and showing off new gear, as people do a lot of. Bushcraft is ALL about going out into nature with next to nothing and having the knowledge to live comfortably by using nature to provide what is needed for shelter and tool's etc,.....
@BackGardenBushcraft
@BackGardenBushcraft День назад
@@neanderthaloutdoors9202 a few thoughts on this: Bushcraft is all about going out into nature and knowledge. On this I fully agree. However, There is nothing wrong with celebrating the makers and craftsmen/women who make exceptional equipment for this purpose as exemplified at Bushcraft Show or Wilderness Gathering. I spend as much time as I can in nature, learning skills and teaching them to others. I never would boast about my kit or judge others for the equipment they use. I recently made a video showcasing a restoration I did on a WW2 axe that I found in the dump completely free and highlighted that it was every bit as practical as an expensive axe and cost no money. I have done the same with mora knives, 50p billhooks and old saws from the scrap heap. Everyone should be free to practice their outdoor skills as they please and to their own criteria. If someone doesn't want a fancy knife, that's absolutely fine, it does the same job as a 10 quid mora, but it's not up to others to judge someone who does for saving up for a year to buy one. In my opinion, It should all about be about personal choice, seeking learning, connecting people with nature, building a supportive outdoor community and encouraging others. Just my 2p worth.

Loved the show and was there for the whole weekend. Had a lesson with Giles for 3 hours on carving spent too much money with Ben & Lois and Wilderways and the better half created a wonderful woven willow basket. It's such a superb family based show and I cant recommend it enough. I didn't win in the axe throwing competition though but it was great fun

It was a great weekend but not a great venue for camping. The camping field was mostly a slope and we all ended up pitched close together up the top where it was most level. The woodland camping area was at the bottom of the hill and I wish I'd brought a hammock set up instead of a tipi tent. Lesson learned for next time.

I have used potassiumpermanganite tablets powdered with a mortar and pestle and dissolved in water as a wood stain to stain the stock on a .50 cal. Percussion rifle. They may be purple but they stain unfinished wood brown. One old timey use was for soaking areas of your skin (mostly feet and ankles) that are afflicted with an itchy rash. I never heard of using it for open wounds. And as is the case with wood it will stain your skin brown and it will just have to wear away once applied. I don’t remember the concentrations. I read about it about 50 years ago in a book on making gunstocks.

@@robertauld2242 really interesting information thank you! I find it fascinating to hear about people's uses for things. I read that it has been used in dermatology to treat weeping skin conditions and has been used to sterilize wounds and cuts. I read an NHS article (I will link it in the description) which said: "Potassium permanganate soaks can be used to treat a range of skin conditions including: • infected eczema • leg ulcers that may be weeping (leaking) or blistering • wounds on your skin Potassium permanganate is for external use only. Never swallow the tablets or take them internally - this can be fatal." I have also heard about it's staining the skin! Definitely an interesting chemical with some varied uses. I personally will stick to using it for fire, and only use it medically if I had nothing else to hand, which is unlikely. All the best, Tom.

Hi, if you are not saved, and would like to be included in the rapture of the church. Believe that Jesus's death on the cross, was enough to pay for ALL your sins , yes ALL ,(past, present and future) That is what the Gospel is about. We are saved by GOD'S amazing grace, through our faith in Jesus's sinless life, death on the cross and resurrection 3 days later . No additional works needed. It is literally that simple.
