How do you recommend hand cutting a plank already installed (prefab cardboard hard-coated floor)? I need to cut across the board twice, then I can slice down the seams.
My saw just stopped working it must be said after a fair bit of use but I find no brushe sets are listed for the motor which seems to be a sealed unit. I assume it is brushless, but stand to be corrected if not. I will take to pieces when I have an hour to spare.
Great. SDS is so a simple construccion. That's why it has to be patented. A big hug to the person who invented this!! And so many years we worked without SDS! Great
It's a good mitre saw for a beginner or occasional use, it's just the chinsy "safety measures" on the handle that becomes one of those things you start to hate
"With a much more efficient brushless motor the DJR360"???? If you look at the Makita website and compare the single battery 05Z with the double battery 06Z, there's no talk or specs listed about any extra torque with the dual battery model. The stroke length is the same, the strokes per minute are the same, the cutting capacity is listed to be the same. Does the 36V model deliver more power to the cutting blade? or is it just more work time - for which Makita created exactly the same reciprocating saw as Makita XRJ05Z (DJR187Z) with only two batteries????
Yup, your little demonstration was a lot more informative then the handbook that came with it. I must have looked like a big question mark looking at my Makita Multitool before i went in here and saw this. Thumbs up!
Thank you for making this. The video could be a lot better. For instance, close-up shot(s) of the cutting head, demonstrate head rotation, clearly show kerf-width.
Why did you not start in the same place for each battery? With the 5ah XR, you start behind the saw horse and with the Powerstack you start in front of the saw horse.
There's an adapter available, if you want to use those. The OIS mount takes too much wear from the longer and wider blades that are available these days, which is why the Starlock plus and max mounts were developed. Cost of progress I guess. :)
